I take my hat off for anyone that can shoot Split Mountain with results like this. This mountain is hard to shoot. It is sooooo white! Good job.

Good composition, and I love the mist effect. The black frame is a good touch. How do you apply the frame?

Tu was a wild cat. Tu was trapped and taken to the vet to be neutered. The vets clip the ears of all the wild cats that they fix. My cousin adopted this cat. It is the most gentle laid back cat I have ever been around. I think they got a bit carried away with his ear.

I'm not aware of any other names common or otherwise for these birds. They are probably my favorite bird. They don't call them King Birds for nothing. They are King of the Birds. They will take anyone on. This particular bird has the top of its head split open, probably from a falcon's talon. I have several picture of its bloody head. I didn't think he would survive, but day after day he is by his nest fighting off any threats. The female is less aggressive and cheers the male on in his efforts to protect their young.

Thank you Jill, your comments are appreciated. I feel so fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Thanks for your compliment. Those King Birds are very aggressive. I love their spunk. This shot was in the middle of an oilfield. They love to nest on manmade objects. All the oilfield workers consider them as pets, and watch out for their young. They also nest on moving man made objects such as rod pump jacks. The babies are moving up an down the entire time they are in the nest. They will take on any threat from hawks to humans.
