1. Is there an app for Android? Ed: I found the site, thanks!
 2. Hello! My young cousin wants to buy her first Canon dslr, most likely used, and I was wondering how I can check the shutter count. Is there an app that will allow me to check on an Android phone. Or is it hidden somewhere in the menus. Thanks for your help!
 3. Actually I just checked and I think the film I have is Rollei Infrared. It comes in a black box with "Infrared" printed on the side. I bought this film 2 years ago and I have been wanting so bad to shoot that film but stuff always comes up. What kind of filter do you use after you let the meter find the right exposure given a low iso? I have a Hoya R72.
 4. Greetings, I have a roll of Rollei 400 iso black and white IR film that is set to expire in August but have had it in the fridge for over a year and just haven't had the time or know-how to shoot it. I was wondering what is the proper way to get good images with this film. I will be using a Canon AE=1 Program with this film, but am not sure if I need a filter. I currently have a Hoya red filter and Hoya IR 720 Filter and was wondering if those would suffice. Any and all advice is most welcome and appreciated.
 5. Ohh, I was searching within a collection! Haha, guess i was searching the wrong way. I selected the folder that contains all the pictures and found the pictures with the key words that i added with no problem. Thank you so much for your help, i greatly appreciate it!
 6. Hello, I am having a hard time with keywords added to pictures. I add keywords in the keyword module and I also add synonyms, but when I search for the keywords or the synonyms in the search function in lightroom by pressing ctrl+F i get no results. i have no idea whats going on, and could really use some help.
 7. Thanks for the help everybody! I found a shutter speed and aperture to start off with, but i also downloaded some flash apps onto my phone. Slowly but surely I am beginning to learn.
 8. Thank you all for the replies! thank you Gerry for the well wishes! I guess I had it all wrong then. I was trying out the flash after watching the video about it online, and tried out a few different settings and got some very usable shots. I haven't shot in all manual since my high school photography class ages ago. I like the manual flash after testing it out a bunch, but i would like an iTTL flash some day. What are some good iTTL flashes that I could use on my Canon? I do not know which brands are good and which to avoid.
 9. Greetings, I am completely new to using a manual flash but have ordered an Altura Photo AP-UNV1 universal flash. On the back of the flash is the power selector which goes from 1/128 to 1 to 1. Is each one of those power outputs the shutter speed that i have to select in order to get a proper exposure? For example, when i select the weakest output which is 1/128 does that mean my shutter speed should be 1/128th of a second and when i go one step up in intensity to 1/64 does that mean my shutter speed should be 1/64th of a second? I am completely new to using a flash other than the pop one on my canon t3i/600D and any help would be greatly appreciated.
 10.
Thank you all very much! I am going to buy some black and white film and give it a try :)

 11.
Thank you all for the replies! I took the red filter off my lens after trying many times to get a dark sky, but i was able to shoot in color and then make the skies darker my converting the picture to B&W and reducing the blues, which worked really well.

I also wanna try this with B&W film. Is there anything i should know in order to get dark skies with a red filter while shooting B&W film?

 12.
Hello, i recently bought a Hoya 52mm Red 25A HMC Filter with the hopes of getting black and white pictures with black skies, or at least dark skies. I tried it out on my DSLR buy setting the camera to take pictures in black and white, and when I took pictures of the sky with the filter on, I got gray skies, and not dark or blackened skies. Does anyone know how I can get the effect of black or darkened skies with this filter. Can it be done with a DSLR or must I use black and white film?

 13.
I got the screen today and it does not look like a D screen. The difference is that the screen I got has a bigger circle in the middle that changes and is split in half until the image is in focus. The original screen was the same, but the new screen I got has a bigger split circle. This would make a it B screen wouldn't it?

 14.
Thanks for the replies everybody!
Is the screen hard to change? Is there anything I should know before and while I change the screens?

 15. Thanks Stephan for letting me know! I only found the D one, which I bought. Is the D focusing screen good for also taking pictures of people?
 16.
Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a better focusing screen for my AE-1 Program. The focusing screen I have is comprised of a circle split in two halves that align up when it is in focus. i have having trouble focusing with slower lenses, especially since the top half of the circle becomes dark. I've read somewhere that there are other focusing screens that do not show any darkness when using a slow lens. I really want a better focusing lens and I tried looking on ebay but could not find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 17.
I found this Yonguo flash, that I think has an automatic mode:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8635BY?keywords=ettl%20flash&qid=1450656247&ref_=sr_1_3&sr=8-3

Can i use that one automatically, and then if I choose to do so, use it in manual mode?

 18.
Thanks for the replies!

I checked out the YonGuo flashes but they did not have ETTL or an automatic mode, and the Godox were way too expensive. The bower ones looked cheap, and I do not really want to be a cheap flash because of they usually have bad build quality and break easily. Are there any other flashes that work in auto mode, and that cost under $100 US?

 19.
Greetings everyone. I am looking to buy my first flash for my Canon 600D t3i. I want something that will let me get brighter pictures indoors and outdoors for portraits. I am still relatively new to digital photography and want a flash that could work automatically but I also want manual mode if it would help with my photography and also get better results. I found one flash that looks good and in my price range, which is under $100, and its this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Altura-Photo-Auto-Focus-Protective-MagicFiber/dp/B00KEYRI0C/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1425538769&sr=8-2-fkmr1&keywords=Insignia+TTL+Flash+for+Canon

I am brand new to flash photography and any help would be great!

 20.
Thank you all for the replies! William, those are some great shots. I tried similar camera settings to what you have and got some decent images. I shot the same scene several times, each time setting the exposure for a longer time. I started at 15 seconds, and increased the exposure by 5 seconds for each subsequent exposure. I am shooting with my Canon t3i/600D and I wanted to try film but am only doing digital for now. When I was taking the pictures I was using live view, and I did not think about just shooting at what the camera meter said to take. I thought that it wouldn't really help much, so I just took a bunch of bracketed shots. I am going to try shooting at the exposure that the camera tells me to, and see what results I get.

 21.
Hello, I have been experimenting with ir filters for a short while, and I cant seem to get replicable shots. My question is, from a base exposure on my camera without the filter, how any fstops will it cut on my camera? Thanks for any and all replies!

 22.
Hello everyone, I bought a IR850 filter, and I was wondering how long I should make the ecposures for and at what apertures, and ISO. I have a Hoya RM72 and know how to use it alright, but I have never used a ir850 filter before.

 23.
Now I just need advice on how to properly use that ir filter, so I will go ask in the filter section of the forums.

 24.
Thank you all for helping me! I wont be pointing the camera at anything really bright, but how do I use LNR? Does my T3i have that?
