This is really good Ken. It makes maximum use of the shapes, perspective, and geometry.
-
Igor, this is certainly not up to your usual excellence. The lighting is bad, the pose is not flattering. It probably looked good through the viewfinder. Hey, we all have a bad day once in a while.
-
Came to this following a forum thread. Its fantastic. Probably the best of your work I've seen Emil.
-
Congrats Graeme. This is beautiful. I agree, find wonderful things in your own surroundings.
-
Hard choice between B&W and color, I know. But in the end, go with B&W.
-
This is excellent Wieslaw, like all your work is. I especially like the way you framed the kids with the buildings. Not easy to do in an environment that can change rapidly.
-
Ken, I think I would have preferred to center on the prop hub, capturing the speed mechanism and the lines on the jugs fanning out from there. Still, a nice shot with classic lines.
-
I've always liked this one Ken. One of your best.

This is excellent Wieslaw.

This is an excellent IR shot James. Your toning is beautifully done.

Hi Stephen. This is an excellent scene you have, one of the type I favor. IR film can be very tricky, especially HIE. A lot depends on the angle of the sun. Keep up the effort!
-
Like your subject and theme. A little darker sky would help add drama. The toning brings out the feeling of the rust.

Heck of a find and a heck of a composition.

Good composition Yogi. I favor leaving the tracks in the scene as they are certainly part of the atmosphere. Cropping them out would leave an undefined line of weeds.

Looks like you're almost where you want to be Ken. Have you ever tried tri-x developed in highly diluted HC-110. It might be worth a try in this situation. Rate the film at 200, expose as you see fit. Dilute HC-110 at 1:120 from concentrate. Time is 20 minutes at 68F. Agitate only twice; once at 10 minutes and once at 15 minutes. It works and may be worth a try in this situation.

Good shot Ken, of course you know I'm fond of the subject. As Dave suggested, a little dark in the black areas. Looks like it was a pretty bright day.
-
This is as good as it gets. Perfect tones combined with stunning composition.
-
I've seldom give a 7/7, but this strikes me as deserving. Very strong composition, perfect lighting, perfect skin tone. Most beautiful!

I'm a great lover of mechanical art, so I'm always drawn to photos on the subject. The biggest drawback here is the pipe running through the left side which spoils the symmetry of the composition. Understand you can't move it out of the way, and its hard to cope with. Other than that, cropping the top just above the spring shackle would get rid of the piece hanging down from the top. Look forward to seeing the rest of your series.

One of the most creative shots I've seen in a long time. Technically excellent too.
-
This is excellent! I can appreciate the difficulties in doing this underwater.
-
An excellent idea and technique. Appreciate the technical details.
-
Love the geometrics of this!
