1.
I have A 4GB Lexar compact flash, I've used it for about a year and a half now and have never had problems with it before. But now it's telling me that the card only has enough space to hold one picture (I'm shooting with my Canon 40D) When I plug it into my computer it tells me I only have 8.9MG of space available, there is nothing on this card no folders or pictures or anything. Did my CF break? If so is there a way I can fix it or use some kind of recovery on it? Has anyone else had this problem with Lexar?

 2.
I just recently bought a Nikon FG-20 on Ebay to replace my old Nikon FG (the light meter in it died :/) and when looking through the view finder you can see what is obviously some kind of dust on the inner mirrors. What would be the best way to clean this?

 3.
this might be a little off topic...but how could something as amazing and wonderful as a camera be ugly?
considering that beauty is an abstract idea, never right or wrong, but simply color, shapes or ideas themselves that appeal to our eyes; it's very hard to call anything ugly.
but then to call something you are suppose to love ugly seems kind of shallow and off point. Manual cameras (along with there digital counterparts) are amazing tools to express your opinions, thoughts and emotions with...how could that be ugly?

 4.
I know a lot of this question has to do with what your going to be shooting. But, what if you want to shoot everything? I shoot a Canon40D and just have the stock lens now, I need a lens that’s going to be able to go everywhere with me and take a picture without a lot of fuss. At the same time I’m a college student with little cash to spare, what’s going to be the best lens for me?
Most of the pictures I take could be considered macro, and almost all have a very short depth of field. But, I don’t want to get a lens that limits me, I don’t want a lens that allows me to only take those kind of pictures.

Would a wide telephoto lens be a good pick for me? I’ve been looking at the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

I’ve been wanting to get another lens for a while but have no idea what kind of lens I want to get, it was easier for me to pick my camera then the lens to put on it!!!
Please someone help

Thank you all

 5.
I'm going to be a senior in high school, I’ve been home schooled all my life. For the last two semesters though I’ve been taking college courses at the local community college, mostly just photography ones.
And my add on question is this:
Not do I need to go to a formal college but should I? What would be the pro’s and con’s?
I’m located in southern IL; about 15 minute’s east side of St. Louis. I was looking into Columbia College in Chicago, it’s about 40,000 a year, is there something out there where I’d get a better bang for my buck, with out going to far from home?
My goals would be to eventually run my own studio, though it wouldn’t be the traditional kind. I know I’m going to need a lot of knowledge in digital imaging.
Thanks everyone!

 6.
I currently have a Canon 40D and I love it! But, it would be really nice just to have a point and shoot to carry with me in my purse, for those unexpected pictures. Last winter I helped my brother pick out point and shoots and fell in love with the Nikon Coolpix. I’m not sure what model it was or if they have come out with a new model since (although I’m sure the most likely have)
I mostly want something that can be versatile, like going from taking a picture of my best friend to a landscape to a macro shot. Which I know is asking a lot, but most of the point and shoots come with the different settings now. Brands aren’t really important, I just want something good.
Trying to keep it under $300
Thanks everyone

 7.
I have my grandpa's old Nikon FG camera and I've shot with it for two semesters, using strictly B&W film. Over the summer I decided to put some color film in it just to play around with, but now my light meter won’t work correctly. Instead of telling me the correct shutter speed I need for the f/ stop I've chosen, it just blinks whatever shutter speed I have it set on. I've never had any problems with the meter before and except for a couple of weeks non use I haven't done anything different with it.

Thanks for all your help

 8.
I love the random and contrasty pictures I got with a holga I shot with (I borrowed it) last fall. But I have a hard time paying so much for a plastic camera. Is there another camera I could get that would capture the same images as the holga, without such a price? It would be a bonus if it shot 120 film or something easy enough to find. (I shoot in b&w)
Thanks alot =D

 9.
Last semester in school i shot with a holga. Now i have a brownie (holiday camera) and it says it takes kodak 127 film, is that the same film as the holga takes? Is there another kinda of film that would be better to use? And is it possible to take the canister of film out of the camera without a dark bag, like with your 35mm film?
Thank you all

 10.
I’m a second semester photo student, last semester we all shot B&W 400 ISO film. I hadn't touched my camera much in-between semester except to take another roll of B&W. The first roll of film I was asked to shoot this year was 100 ISO color slide, like the airhead I am I forgot to change the camera's setting from 400 ISO to 100 ISO. I’m not developing the film, I’m taking it to a camera shop, does anybody have any tips or advice for me to tell the people at the shop on developing my film??? Is it going to be salvageable? or should I cut my losses and just shoot a whole new role of film??? (keep in mind I shot this roll while on vacation in Canada and wont be able to retake any of them)

Thank You

 11.
Hello all,

I was wondering if you all you lovely people could help me with a few things,

1. I’m going to be taking a trip to Canada soon and I would like to take some snow pictures with a Holga Camera and was wondering if there were any tricks that I should know about exposures

2. I just shot a roll of Kodak T-max 400 speed film in the snow, and bracketed at +1 and all my negatives turned out really dark, you could still see the image it was just really dark (bad exposure most likely) I didn't know if anyone could tell me what I did wrong and also any tips on printing with my dark negatives

Thank you everyone!
