Hi everyone,
I want to create a custom frame and mat for a client, approximately 10x16 including a trio of images (in any layout) with a mat around each picture.
MPIX does framing, but the mat is around the exterior of the images (not each individual picture). Sendaframe.com does mat/frame where the mat is around each of the three images. Has anyone used them? I'd love feedback...
Do you have any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance,
Natalie

Hi everyone,
I know this may seem like an odd questions, but I'm curious what shoes you wear for weddings or formal events? I ask because I have a terrible back, I'm a woman... and can't imagine wearing heels. I want to be impeccably dressed at all times, but would like to be comfortable capable of moving and climbing, reaching and capturing EVERY moment. Since I have a bag back, I'd be curious to hear what shoes you ladies wear, which may be nice and comfy.
Thanks,

Hi Everyone,
When brides give you an extensive list of must-take photos, how do you handle them? To ensure you've covered everything requested? Do you tell them, you have 30 minutes and "x" number of photos are reasonable, however, you will try to take all the photos? Do you keep a list of her top 10 requests and mentally or actually check off your list?
What do you do?
THanks,

Hi Everyone!
Over the last few years, my approach to photo processing has changed and grown. I'm curious what you generally do. For example if you shoot at wedding in RAW what steps do you take to process your photos?
In addition to cropping, resizing, how do you enhance it typically (saturations, levels, etc)? I'm curious what your method is for processing and finalizing images.
Personally, I rank my images in Bridge resizing only 5 star images, cropping, adjusting exposure, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness occasionally (not necessarily in this order).
I'd love to expand and consider other options. I know in Lr, people use auto presets. I havent tried this yet, but would love to hear your experience using this (if so).
Thanks,
Natalie

I'm a newbie myself, but found in my experience that capturing someone's inner beauty really makes the pictures special. The joy and happiness within...
Not everyone is going to win America's Top Model. A wedding is a celebration, its not exactly a fashion shoot (can be, but its not always). It also doesnt have to been entirely formal poses, but candids filled with the couple interacting with their family and friends. Its a magical moment in their lives and they deserve to have someone capture the essence of them, with an eye on creativity and love for photography.

This is a comment for Nadine... in my experience on this forum, I always enjoy reading your responses. You're a great help and I know I always appreciate reading suggestions from you =)

Thanks everyone for your input. It seems to make sense that if the cd is included, factor in the cost of reprints we would not receive now.
I appreciate your insight.

Hi everyone,
When putting together your wedding packages, do you give brides a cd with high res pictures and ownership of all images? If so, why did you chose to do this? Was it experience that led you to do this?
Just curious...
thanks!

I'd look at graphistudio, or maybe blackriverimaging for flush mount. Asukabook has beautiful coffee table books. Studio samples are always less, if you are building your portfolio.

Thanks Nadine!!! It appeared a bit thick so I figured I'd ask =)

Thanks Aimee. I agree with always doing the right thing. That carries in all/most aspects of my life in general. I will certainly do so here.

Thanks for all your feedback above. I really appreciate it.
I know the customer is always right, bottom line. Thats still a hard pill to swallow, but a necessity.

I was curious what lessons you learned when building your business or working with someone. As I start building my business, I'm
trying to learn as much as possible on both the creative aspects, and fundamentals of owning and operating a successful
business.

I thought I would ask everyone what some of their most valuable lessons they learned over the years. I realize it may
not apply to me directly, but I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks for sharing!

Natalie

I vote for alien bees as well. I use them myself. Very affordable and an excellent starter set for your daughter. Thats an incredible gift =)
Look at backdropoutlet.com for backdrops, props and other goodies. I bought pocket wizards, but you may be able to get elinchroms.
Good luck,
