1. I tried different apertures (f/8 is rather ok, but still worse than my kit lens, f/3.5 is just out of focus, even when from a bigger distance). What do you think? Is it ok? f/8 f/5.6 f/4.5 f/3.5
2. But i dont need auto focus. I use manual focus only (most of the time I am shooting products and food from a tripod).
3. F8 looks much better than f4, but my kit lens is still sharper.
4. My camera cant manual focus with this lens, thats why I used manual focus. I did more tests. Now both lenses has the same settings (1/200, f8, ISO100, tripod, shutter release, manual focus, both images are 100% crops): Top image: 55mm Micro Bottom image: kit lens
5. BTW, the older 55mm micro lens has much shorter focus throw. Its much easier to focus with the kit lens.
6. I bought it on auction website, so I am not sure if the guy will give me my money back. :) I try another tests tomorrow.
7. I know its a bit underexposed. I didnt use any adjustments in postproduction.
8. I used tripod. 1/160 shutter speed, ISO 100, f4.0. And speedlite reflected from a foam board. I also tried to shoot some images with my kit lens with the same settings (I was manual focusing with both). The kit lens was much sharper (but I noticed It was set to f8). Here are some quick tests. My kit lens was probably se to a different focal length, but both images are 100% crops. I try to shot some better tests tomorrow. Upper image: 55mm Micro Nikkor Bottom image: my kit lens
9. Hi. I just bought Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AF MICRO-NIKKOR. Ken Rockwell says its probably Nikon's sharpest lens ( and the sample images I saw on the internet are extremely sharp. However, the lens I bought is extremely soft. Its actually the less sharpest lens I had (even my cheap kit lens is much sharper). I have Nikon D3300. Where could be the problem? Do you think there is something wrong about this lens or am I doing something wrong? (Of course, I am focusing manually) I try to upload some images tommorrow.
10. That means its available only for 4/3 cameras?
11. Is there a speed booster for Nikon APS-C cameras? Couldnt find any.
12. Is it possible to install picture profiles on Nikon D3300? I found on YouTube, you need to use "manage picture control" in menu, but I dont see this function on D3300. Does it mean this is not possible on this camera? I also have a second question. Where can I download some Nikon picture profiles for Adobe Camera Raw?
13. Is there a grip wit AE-L/AF-L button for Nikon D3300? I only found some grip on BH which doesnt seem to have this button.
14. I tried Digicam Control. It works, but i cant find out how to zoom in live view (if its possible). There is some zoom in and zoom out button, but doesnt do anything.
15. The live view is the most important for me (the other features not so much). D3300 has a fixed LCD and I need to see the image when I arrange the food on the table in front of the lens. I found this: Easy to use, free solution for complex camera control | digiCamControl https://www.tethertools.com/product/case-air-wireless-tethering-system/ https://kuvacode.com/ Any experience with this software?
16. Sometimes I photograph food and it would be awesome to have a live view on my computer when arranging the food. It would be also great if I could control the camera through the computer (maybe even manual focus) and if it would be possible to save photos on the memory card in the camera as well as transfer them to the computer. What software could you recommend me? I have Nikon D3300. Thanks for any tips.
17. What I dont like about the 18-105 lens is that the focus ring is active even in "auto" mode and I am afraid that I could accidentally defocus the image by my hand on the lens. Is there a way how to turn off the focus ring in auto mode?
18. I order Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm AF-P lens, but they mistakenly sent me Nikon D3300 with 18-105mm AF-S lens. I wonder which one is better (sharper) lens? Lets say, I dont care about focal length. Would it be worth it to return the lens and exchange it for the 18-55mm?
19. I am starting out with photography business, I think I have a nice portfolio and a few clients, but I want to get more clients. So I put together a list of potencial clients I want to contact I would like to write them an email first. I want to ask you, how would you wrote an introduction mail to possible client? I suppose "Hi, I am a photographer. I have an experience in event photography and I want to work with you. Look at my portfolio." wouldnt be enough, because they most likely recieve many boring mails like this :) How would you attract their attentions? Thanks for any tips ;)
20. You are right, its hard to say. I will probably try to contact some event agencies. That could be the easiest way.
21. Hi, I am starting out with event photography. Can somebody tell me what kind of clients should I look for? What clients will need me? Thanks for any tips ;-)
22.
Is there a client gallery plugin for Wordpress where every client have password protected access to their gallery where he can rate, comment and download photos? I found plugins Ppixelgrade and Photography Management which look nice, but you cant rate or comment photos. Thanks for any help! :)

23.
What tethering app would you recommend me for this DSLR?

24.
I tried to install Olympus Capture tethering application and I tried to connect my old DSLR Olympus E-420 to a computer, but I cant see any live view on the computer. Does it mean the application is not compatibile with E-420 or am I doing something wrong? I used tethering with Olympus Studio 2 in the past without any problem, but Olympus Capture looks really great.
