    Hi Joanie,

Definitely not an expert, but I see what is a potential good photograph with a few issues. First, you have what appears to be a beautiful model with some nice colors at play. The problem I have is that I just don't know where to look in this image. Also, what you are trying to accomplish. This perspective is a bit difficult to look at . I have a partial view of her left eye which tends to always be a problem.

If you had her arch her head back and look at the camera or even had full view of both of her eyes it would vastly improve the picture. I've been in your shoes, just keep reading and learning.

Reading the comments on other photographs that you like hear on PN will go a long way to let you know what works and what does not work. I'll keep an eye out for you work.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and insights, but Mark thank you for your very thorough and well thought out analysis. I was very helpful to hear your thoughts. I am trying to learn little by little and to be honest, I never noticed the things you pointed out until you revealed them to me. Thank you.

    Cheers

    Jim,

Great image! The shadow contours create an amazing effect. I like the tone and saturation as well. Can I ask you the particulars of the camera settings of how you put this all the together? I can't imagine you hand held this. Every time I try something with dark and light contrast near a window, it tends to tend to get blown out in areas or too dark in others. It seems like you have the perfect balance as well some very nice sharpness.
