I understand what you mean - I have a hard time sharing personal photos too. I haven't listened to the news in a while except for local, so I guess ignorance is bliss for me these days. I just find it too depressing at times and have too much going on for it to drain me any more than I already am. Thanks again for sharing - your heart must melt every time you are near her! I know my kids and grandson have that effect on me. :) -

DIMITRIS, BARRY and PIERRE, Thank you so much for your visits and kind comments! I'm so happy you all like this one with the high key and white background. I did a series of shots of this shoe on a concrete floor but the floor had many divots and uneven textures which I thought was too busy and distracting for the look I wanted to project in this particular photo. The high key seemed to work so I am very happy you like it! Barry - ditto all the above comments? Even Patsy's? LOL! Thanks again gentlemen for your kind words! I am very appreciative. :) -

I love the bright yellow staircase leading up to the dark corner - makes me wonder what is lurking in the shadows. I love the light reflecting off of the silver metal; somehow it plays well with the cheery staircase and offers optimism to a scene that otherwise would be very drab and depressing. Then my eye goes to the red gas can and something more sinister starts to play - perhaps now we know what or who lurks in the shadows. Interesting capture Jack! Thank you for sharing. :)

Nice capture and story. The story is one to which I can relate. I have been renovating my house one room at a time over the past 3-4 years and when it came time to do my bedroom (and closet) I had to weed through and part with a lot. It wasn't always an easy thing to do because of memories associated with certain things and I was afraid if I let go of the shoe or the dress, etc., then I would let go of the memory. I ended up taking photos of some of the things I wanted to part with and others have gone into a box marked "sentimental". I really understand why it would be hard for someone to make that final gesture and put them in the bin. Very well done photo, which for me, stirs emotion. Thank you for sharing. :)

Nice composition! I like the selective use of color putting those books illuminated by the light and the light itself in color; I think by doing this you are showing that knowledge is indeed wealth and that knowledge can bring light in your life. Very well done and nice concept! Thank you for sharing. :)

Very nice shot Drew! I like all the elements and they combine to make a great photo. I like images that make me think or feel something and this one makes me think of my son. He was just here a few weeks ago; flew in for one night just to spend time with me. When I got home after dropping him at the airport for his return flight I went in my backyard and cried and looked in the sky for his plane (flights traveling NW often fly overhead). Anyway, that's probably more than you wanted to know but this photo brings that to mind. I love the wispy clouds and the promise of a full moon. I also like how the moon and the plane seem equal in distance, which they might as well be sometimes when you are missing someone. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)
