1.
Had my D4 out in a torrential downpour for a couple hours, covering a soccer game (poor high school kids), but she was wrapped in her Think Tank rain cover and stayed nice and dry. What he did was insane.

Best,
-Tim

 2.
I was really lucky a few month ago, found a mint copy, with original hood and box, for under $400, I snatched it immediately.

Had the same lens back in 1995 and sold it to a friend because I really wanted an 85 f1.2L. He was thrilled to get the 100 f2, and I ended up missing it a lot.

Best,
-Tim

 3.
Did you try it on an FD body? If you are using adapters so the lens will mate with some other cameras, if the adapters are not precise (i.e. a bit too long), that will keep the lens from reaching infinity. I would try it on a Canon FD body, and if it still won't reach infinity, then it's gonna need a trip to a service technician.

Best,
-Tim

 4.
I think there's a river named after this:

Playing around with the Nikon 1 V2 and a Nikkor 300mm f4.5 ED-IS AIS lens. Good times.

Best,
-Tim

 5.
Having some fun with Canon FD 50mm f1.2L and a Nikon 1 V2 camera.

f1.4

Best,
-Tim

 6.
I was finally able to reach Ken and I am happy to say he is still servicing Canon cameras.

Best,
-Tim

 7.
Or had him work on any of your Canon gear lately?

He totally rebuilt a NEW F-1 for me last year and as usual, did a fantastic job. Was looking at an F-1n but would not consider buying it unless I could send it to Ken for an overhaul. But I can't reach him.

I've been calling the (951)246-9136 number for days now and never get an answer.

Anyone have any info on whether he is still servicing cameras?

Best,
-Tim

 8.
I just love my V2. I finally did track down an FT-1 and love using it with the V2 and some of my pro glass to get some interesting shots, especially using the electronic shutter which can go 30 fps and even up to 60 fps.

This was at a baseball game I was covering last night. "Here's the Pitch"

Best,
-Tim

 9.
Had been trying to get an FT-1 for months for my V2, no one had them in stock. Now I know why, Nikon was holding them back to offer them with the V3.

Best,
-Tim

 10.

Yes, seems like Canon kicked a lot of people to the curb worldwide when they stepped from FD to EOS

Most definitely. I had a huge Canon FD system when they went to EOS. I was furious. I switched to Nikon and sold off almost the entire Canon FD system. Have NEVER used an EOS camera and NEVER will.

Not that I'm bitter. :-)

Best,
-Tim

 11.
I agree with Don. I've got old Nikon cameras, Canon cameras, and Leica's. Canon and Nikon do their diopter ratings the same way, Leica does theirs different. So I use a "0" on both Nikon and Canon, and a "+1" with the Leica.

It really helps to try the group of diopters that are in your range, like for me with Nikon it would be "+0.5", "0", and "-0.5". The image really "Pops" when you hit the right diopter for your vision.

Best,
-Tim

 12.
Compared to the D4 w/80-200 I use for work, they are tiny and lightweight. :-)

Best,
-Tim
