I shoot architecture with a 4x5 LF and Kodak Portra Film (160nc & 160vc). Now I`m looking for a slide film which could replace the portras for a project. What slidefilm do you think is cosest to the portras? I need a low contrast film (good highlights).
Maybe Fuji Astia? Is this the slide film with the lowest contrast?

How do you transport your monorail camera in a backpack? I have a sinar f2 and would like to take it up on a mountain, but I`m not sure how to put it in the backpack. I would love to see some pictures of your stuffed backpacks.

I normaly use the 5d mkII. Today I rented a 1ds mkII because I need a "backup" camera for a upcoming shooting.
The problem is, when I zoom in on the camera display to 100% -all pictures are soft. When I load them on my pc they are very sharp! Do you know whats wrong with the camera?

I want to buy a epson v750, or maybe the cheaper v700. I mostly scan 6x6 and 4x5 film. What silverfast software so you think is best for this scanner?
Silverfast Archive Suite
Silverfast Ai Studio
Silverfast HDR Studio
.....
I´m a bit confused. What would you buy?

Hello,
Do I need a special Adapter to get TTL with a Bronica Sq-Ai and a metz 45-ct4?
I have to do some portraits. I would love to have TTL with my bronica & metz flash that works fine...

thank you!!!

What scanner would you buy?
Of course the imacon is a lot better for small film formats, but what about 4x5 inch? Do you think the imacon is still a lot better?

I`m looking for a very sharp and distortion "free" wide angle lens- about 20mm. I`ll use it on my 5dmkII, but it would be okay for me to use nikon or zeiss lenses with an adapter. I`m an architectural photographer, I don`t need autofokus or zoom. What can you recommend?

Hello,
How large do prints have to be to notice a differents between the 5d and the new 5d mkII?
My print size will be 33x23 inches. (Architectural photographs)

thank you guys,
I know that this is a matter of opinion. I was just interested if there are folks using the v750 with 6x6/6x7 film professionally.

I`m an architectural photographer, shooting mainly 4x5 inch film. For scanning I use an epson v750, I`m very pleased with the results. However, I would like to use my Bronica 6x6 for interior sometimes when I have to work faster. Does anyone use medium format film with a v750 for professional use? Is the quality good enough for most clients?

and what about the "old" 5d. I don`t care about high iso, fast autofokus.... its all about image quality.

-

-very different. With what size do you think it would be better to use the 5d mkII.

I`m an architectural photographer shooting mainly large format with a sinar f2.
I used nikon film and digital cameras some years ago- but never for serious architectural photography. Now I need a good dslr with shift lenses for some jobs. I´m not sure if I should buy a nikon d700 or the canon 5d markII . I don`t have lots of good nikon lenses. Otherwise I`m used to the nikon handling and menu navigation, and the nikons feels better in my hands than the canon cameras.
But what about image quality? Is there really a big difference between 21mp and 12mp?

"I mainly use 65mm and 90mm lenses with my sinar 4x5"

thanks guys, @ michael axel: I mainly use 65mm and 90mm lenses with my sinar 4x5. I shoot interior and exterior.
It looks like it will cost a lot of money to get the same quality I get now with 4x5 film and an epson v750 scanner.
I think I`ll save up a bit and then go for the new nikon 24 ts. Otherwise the lens costs as much as my whole 4x5 equipment.

I do a lot of architectural photography, mainly with a 4x5 large format camera. I would like to do some jobs with a nikon d700 that i can borrow from a friend.
What lenses would you recommend? It is important for me that the lenses have as less distortion as possible. What about the old nikon manual focus lenses? I don`t need autofokus zoom lenses. But if the image quality is better (less distortion, sharper...) I would consider to buy some of these newer lenses. The new tilt shift lenses are a bit too expensive for me at the moment- (I`m a photo student).

Yesterday I took some test shots. With the filter I need to add 4-5 stops (!)

-

thanks jim,
yes, darken the sky is my aim. I had a shooting with the filter yesterday. I used an efke 25 b/w film.
I opened the aperture 1 stop more- unfortunately i badly underexposed about 10 sheets. All shots without the filter are proper exposed.
So I will repeat the shooting tommorow. I think I`ll try 3 stops...

I bought a Heliopan red filter (25) for my sinar 4x5.( http://www.foto-mueller.at/shop/pd48783797.html?defaultVariants=search0_EQ_28%20x%200,75%20mm_AND_{EOL}&categoryId=210 )
Is it correct to open the aperture 3 stops more for a proper exposure?
I don`t want to mess up a box of film (again)

Does anyone know if epson will bring out a new "pro" flatbed scanner in close future? Something like a "pro v800" ?
