the big question to pose to her is what if someone is running 10 or more minutes late? suggest an earlier start time to allow a time cushion so you aren't deprived of all of the time. Remind her that things don't always stay on schedule, people run late, forget things, etc. If she doesn't listen to you, at least you tried.

it is very possible the lady that said this to you did not realize you were hired to do a job and not a guest at the party

no photography lighting during ceremony is normal

you didn't say how many people there will be, if you are going to do a group shot, you will need lots of room to back up if your lens is not wide enough. The farther away from the people the less effective your external flash will be, though you didn't say you even have one. You may need to take the group outside for a group shot if you dont' have sufficient light inside.

I wouldn't go smaller, if anything larger is better. I have a nice portfolio book that is 10 x 13 size and it's a great size to show off prints.

I think you could cover stuff that is going on that the hired photographer is not shooting. Trust me there are a lot of special moments taking place that the hired photographer will not be focusing on. Some of the best images I have taken at weddings were when the hired pro was no where in sight.

Definitely something comfortable and stylish if you can find something that fits both criteria. During a wedding you want shoes that are going to be quiet.

I have one of these lenses for my Canon and it is getting a LOT of use.

the ON STAGE bags are very good quality

He should have had his attorney contact you, not email you himself, just an observation.

I think these videos can be helpful. Glad to see they are selling for 50%, good time to buy.

I think it should just remain on the point and shoot cameras.

I think a lot of it depends on the style of photograhy they want. If you are old school traditional, then the ones that are looking for the trendy type stuff will look for someone who offers the style of images they are looking for, they see this normally based on your portfolio and then will look for someone who does what they do at a price they are comfortable paying.

I think if the person taking the pictures was a guest of the wedding, then you really can't say a whole lot about the pictures they take and them posting them online.... it's just how things are these days.
Your images should represent a higher quality that when presented they will be more than happy. I am sure they will be.

I thought you were saying she wanted you to travel to another country. Where I live driving an hour is still in the "city" so it is expected.

You can renumber your images in your photo editing and saving process where no numbers will be missing after you have tossed the obvious loser shots.

-

edit out duplicates, bad shots, keep the best of the best, those you are unsure of, I see no reason not to put in an extras folder

-

I will be using one mainly because I appreciate the extra support since hours of shooting make the camera feel heavy after a while, but for super sharpness, I would use a tripod.

very important info for you is having back up equipment with you for weddings, you can't just have one camera and then be out of luck if something goes wrong.

-

when I think snapshot, I think of a person who knows nothing about composition or the aspects that make a good photograph period, but your opinion may differ entirely.

you need another flash and plenty of batteries for your flash units. do you have back up batteries for the camera bodies?

I will add here that there is a good selection of 3rd party stuff for Sony without the need for VR or IS lenses and high quality glass with the Zeiss lenses from Sony.

yeah, you don't want to do that Kay, not a good thing

I don't think I would raise them yet unless you feel you are doing too many events.
