:O If you dont go back to the basics, just to avoid "going some 25+ years back in technology.", you may end way, waay
before any techonology could be invented...
PS: PNet should have a motto, something on the lines of "because people can photography any way they want"... :P

According to wikipedia:
A 'true' professional must be proficient in all criteria for the field of work they are practising professionally in. Criteria
include following:
Academic qualifications - i.e., university college/institute
Expert and specialised knowledge in field which one is practising professionally
Excellent manual/practical & literary skills in relation to profession
High quality work in (examples): creations, products, services, presentations, consultancy, primary/other research,
administrative, marketing or other work endeavours
A high standard of professional ethics, behaviour and work activities while carrying out one's profession.
It makes sense to me...

Hi all! !
I was wondering if the newsletter for september was already sent...
I missed the August one, but I guess that was a consequence of joining that month to photo.net.
Specifically I would like to know the Photo.net Monthly Project for september :)
Thanks,
Luis

The firefox plugin works like a charm in many pictures on photo.net...
So, thats right, it shows EXIF data if they are present

In the old days, true photographers used to drink stirred martinis, but now.... :P
More seriously, I still don´t understand why people are so sensitive to that topic, even worse, i dont understand why
people should ask something like that. Maybe is because we are used to look for easy answers on the net, when we
should be more used to apply our own criteria? ?
kind regards,
Luis

hahaha,
it could be worse....
she could have said: "nice, I'll give you a 3/3" ;)
PS: Sorry Lex, I know, I know...

hehehe,
Glenn, Lex, thanks for your answers, :)

Honestly I dont get the relationship between zombies and street photo...
But I was wondering on some of the topics touched here.
According to Glenn, getting "the shoot", anticipating "the moment" is what street or documentary photography is all
about. No viewpoint needed. Social or moral principles have nothing to do with street photography. The goal is vérité,
right?
I always thougth that maybe if you do landscape photo or nature photo, etc you can do shoot free of any social/moral
biases. Also, I thought that street photo is inherently based on such personal biases as social/moral principles,
otherwise how do you define "the shoot"? how do you define "the moment"? and forget about vérité....

hehehehe yes I have been acussed of that more times than I can remember...

Woow! I like your photos, specially the one entitled "Thorns", you shoot powerful photos, they made me feel close to your
subjects.
Are you still shooting in Mexico? ?

I am not sure Lex, I think that any irony on the lego photos is beyond the author and certainly beyond the people at wired...
For sure, the intent of irony desnt show on the flickr page where he originally posted his shots.
Maybe its because I have tha same feelings as JDM...
And the fact that his work is far less insensitive than the crap that Hollywood film producers does, doesnt make his work
right or less creepy, it just add up to that kind of works, at least for me...

A 2nd thing to consider is your country taxes, they usually are calculated when your shipment arrives.
Here in Mexico, they charge about 15 % of your shipment vale plus a 65 USD fee. that makes buying photo equipment
from an international dealer really expensive here.
Of course your country laws may vary, but its worth knowing that in advance....

Hi! !
F-- means: No lens attached or a non CPU lens is attached...
( p 132 of the camera manual ;) )

BTW, I could use some critic too guys/girls ;)

Hi Linda ! !
I just saw your sky photos, they are good, do you have a polarizer?
I think that many of them could improve with the use of a circular polarizer.
I really liked the one in B/W with the tree :)

From what it has been said so far, I would try several 1 min shoots at 1600 and averaging them in PhotoShop...

Hey! !
You may want to look at this forum:
http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00QQlP
it has a very interesting approach to reduce noise in photos, not useful in all situatuins, but worth trying :)

I am thinking about building a retirement home for obsolete equipment...
All of you are welcomed to start sending me your "old", "obsolete" (but still working!) D200 and D300´s.
I can even make an exception for more recent models... :P
LOL ;)
