1. Thom Hogan in his review ( Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 S Lens Review | Thom Hogan ) concluded "This is a tough call. The 70-200mm f/2.8E FL is an excellent lens, the best I've seen in that focal range from anyone until the 70-200mm f/2.8 S came along. But I'd say the two Nikkors are within a hairbreadth's distance of one another in terms of optical performance, and what I see in differences could very well just be sample variation." Read the review for more information.

I have the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E FL and am very happy with it. It is an excellent performer.

  2. JDMvW, I enjoyed the write up on Argus. I have a C-4, and was looking for a Geiss modified one. I happened upon a C-44 at an estate sale and was able to negotiate a deal for it. So now I am Argus x 2.

I have seen a few Argus C3 Bricks. There was one for sale in an antique store around here, but the price was ridiculously high. Most likely they considered it a decor item.
Overall I enjoyed using the camera. The lack of an instant return mirror did not hinder me as I advance the film right after the shot out of habit. The focus knob took some getting used to though. And I moved the aperture wheel under the wheel a few times by mistake. However I caught it before the shot.

I really miss having Essex Camera Repair around as they brought this camera back from the brink. I have other camera I would like to get fixed and I am unsure who to send them to.

00cTdm-546614684.jpg.fb5a792eba30bbb17d9c8bdc68508a38.jpg
