I've had good repair luck with David Odess.

Dave Odess is the only one I would send a Hassy back to. I'm sure most are routine. But I had one I had bought knowing it had a light leak. It took a couple times, but Dave got it.
I later learned the guy I had got it from had it at three different local guys trying to get it fixed and couldn't.

does anyone have information on reaching Richard Pritter? I've got a modified Zone VI that needs to be looked at.
Thanks

I've used EFKE 50 in HC 110 diluted 24 ml into 1L of water. I think this is dilution D. 70 degrees for 9 minutes.
For EFKE 25, I'd probably start at 6 minutes and work from there (I've not tried the 25).
Has worked for me.

Also, in Detroit and Kansas City I've been advised NOT to let film go through in checked luggage. Stronger X-ray???????????

I've had to open film backs in Detriot and Kansas City. Open film boxes in Dallas. Fire the body in Denver. Hand checked after x-ray, almost everytime, everywhere.
This is a good thing.

He did say he got an overhaul, not light trap and CLA

Probably going rate for big shop
I'm looking at a David Odess invoice from 10/9/2002.
He replaced the light trap, nylon stop, drive gear, metering gear, and metering arm.
Total $233.00

I too bought a A16 on the bay and had the same problem you discribed.
However, I used it quite a bit, and after awhile I couldn't tell the difference between it and the A12's Odess had CLA'd for me.
I'd use it a little before CLA. Then send it to David if its still tight.

yes, would you like to sign up?

These can be difficult sometimes, David Odess fixed one for me that was very pesky.
he stayed with it, it took four trips through the mail, but he finally got it fixed.

Hi
I have an NC2 I use now, do you gain any brightness, enough to make a difference, going to newer style non-metered viewfinders?
thanks

OK
Doesn't look like David Odess can fix the fact he sold me a lens you can barely get a filter off and on, non that around 17 feet, focusing to closer distances, it's not smooth at all almost jerky.
It's still under his warranty, and I called him about the filter issue the day it arrived. The focus issue didn't arise until he sent it back to me in a 12 inch tall box with only 6 inches of peanuts. He had tried to fix the filter issue without luck.
Give me some suggestions I can send the lens to have it repaired.
Thanks

I agree David is a nice guy, and is generous with his offering of advice on camera repairs. I don't share that view of his used Hasselblad equipment sales.

David is right
I sent him one of mine for light leak and spacing problems.
He stayed after it, and when he returned it the fourth time it worked great.

Hi
David Odess has told me on some of the early chromes the flash syn is different and parts are not available now, if that is a consideration.

Hi
Try David Odess in Randolph, MA Telephone 781-963-1166
Prices inline with most big shops, and he will keep after it, I had a A-12 back that required four returns to fix a light leak.

I agree with the C/M if you have to have a removable screen.
However, I generally use my C with a Brightscreen installed over my C/M with normal screen.

Hi
I purchased a 250mm chrome C for $700 late this summer from Daivd Odess that he had overhauled.
Aside from the fact I had to use a file on the tabs to get a shade to fit, and filters are almost impossible to put on and off, its focus ring is very inconsistant in its feel (tightness) through the focusing range.
Is normal for the older chrome lens? Anyone had this problem?
Thanks

Hi Jack
I could not be more satified with David Odess. He has overhauled a tired 500C to run as new, and worked on three different backs for me. Great guy and great service.
He is factory trained, working out of Randolph, MA. His telephone number is 781-963-1166
Fast turn around time.
If you can't tell, I'm very happy with his service.

I'll have to second the opinion on Ross. I bought a super 66 body that was broke, sent it to Ross and haven't had a lick of trouble since. I shoot 3 or 4 rolls a month through it, been over two years since Ross had it.
Seek out a 40mm, great lens, email me if you see a 19mm.

I had brightscreen screens installed in two of my 66 screen frames and have been very happy with them. Did it about three years ago.
I don't have a problem with bright center/dark edges.
I would like to know how they compare to the Maxwell, as I have one more body I would like to convert. The Maxwell's seem to be cheaper (price).

Kowa made an adaptor to let the super 66 l-grip be used on a Kowa 6

It would be interesting to see a list of people who currently own a Kowa 19mm.
<p>
Myself I'm looking for a nice 40mm.
