Sometimes the self-timer is on and you click the shutter and go "Huh... wonder what's wrong *click*"

You accidentally moved the self timer lever a bit. With the self timer, the mirror goes up when you press the shutter release button then the shutter trips at the end of the timer. Just a thought because I've done that myself.
Exactly! I figured it out b/c I took a self portrait later on, and it acted the same way. Thanks for the input that woulda bugged me forever!

One more for today. This is a composite, showing the size difference between Fenris and Bagheera. I lost my beloved Fenris a year ago today. The photo of Bagheera was taken yesterday, on his first birthday. The Fenris photo is from April 2016. These two dogs were alive together on this Earth for about 24 hours. The Earth wasn't big enough for both of them. :)
Fenris photo with Pentax K-50 (16mp) and Bagheera photo taken with Nikon D7000. Both pics at 55mm, f5.6, 1/100 sec.

Shooting a scene today, metered for 1/250 and f4 via the camera's LEDs. Pressed the shutter button and it "hung" open for approximately 2 seconds. This is odd because the FM2 is all manual - when you set the shutter speed, that's the shutter speed it fires at. Some autoexposure cameras will adjust your shutter speed but the FM2 isn't one. The next shot, same shutter speed, went off without a hitch, as did all 30+ shot over two rolls, previous to this error.
Anyone ever experience this with their FM2?

Steel reels can be easier to use for 35mm, but I haven't seen them be much improvement for 120. If you can do it outside of the bag, its a room issue, not a reel issue, so maybe the key would be to replicate the roominess of being outside the bag. Maybe use something, like coat hangers, to puff up the changing bag. Personally, I use a dark closet and have never owned a changing bag.

In theory, I shoot MF for the large negatives so I can use my enlarger and print them. I have a Rolleicord III, a Fujifilm GA645zi, a Pentax 645 and 645NII, a Mamiya RB67, and a Fuji GW690II. In reality I shoot and scan. Still, I do plan to wet print a few of the better shots. Some day.

Today is my birthday! My wife created this werewolf cake to celebrate.
My big gift was a Tamron 16-300mm superzoom in Canon mount, so the cake pic is taken with that lens mounted on the EOS Rebel SL1.

This is illegal in Iowa. This guy and another a-hole were using a net to catch fish under the dam here in Iowa City. They must have noticed me filming them because by the time I was heading back, they were hightailing it out of there.
