I left the lens open overnight and it seems to have dried and the blades are no longer stuck- seems like a success! now for a test roll!
-
Well wouldn't you know, it worked! Except now the aperture blades are sticking. They weren't before. I guess
you can't win them all...
-
I like the top one especially! Kind of like the walking dead ;]

yeah, it's a shame. such a pretty camera. would have loved to actually use it!

Hey everyone,
Just picked up a mint one of these. However, the shutter seems to be sticking open for an extended period. Ex.
when set on 1/30, it seems to stay open from anywhere to 1-10 seconds. Faster shutter speeds are a bit more
accurate but still not anywhere near perfect. I tried to take the camera apart tonight to see if I could repair
it but I don't think I have the skills to do the job so I put it back together. Anyone have any experience with
this?? I'm guessing it's a lost cause but who knows.

good shots. i love that film. also love my t90!

Okay perfect guys- thanks! I just wasn't sure since I heard it can also use the newer Speedlites for the EOS cameras, and it's TTL, etc.

I know it's a crappy flash anyway, but it's the only one I have right now. Been using it every now and then on
an AE-1 and EF. Just wondering if it will work on a T90 or are the voltages incompatible? I don't want to fry
the thing.
Thanks,
Cole

I love that feature of the EF. It's extremely well-built and the film winder is more smooth and solid than any other I've felt before. Even mine which has been heavily used and brassed works amazingly.
-
Thanks for the kind words guys. Now all I need is a better scanner haha. I'm gonna try to pick up a lot of this film on ebay or something. To get results like this from Costco of all places is worth it to me.

Just ordered one of these on the bay for $45 :]

Yes it actually does a good job. I freaking love that camera.

Hey guys.. Haven't really shown anything I've shot here before but just shot my first roll of anything black and
white: Kodak BW400CN. I'm pretty pleased with this film! Shot on an AE-1 with the 28mm f/2.8 s.c. and 50mm f/1.4.

Hey all,
I've been noticing strange circular bands in certain spots on many of my film scans with the CanoScan LiDE 600F.
The scanning bed and film are both clean. I'm using twain importing through Photoshop. Seems like a scanner
issue to me? Here's a sample. (also happens with color film).

I heard somewhere it was to compensate for the underexposure a bright sky would cause in metering while shooting a landscape, etc. I don't know which of the others had this metering system though.
-
Good idea. I don't particularly need them mounted though because I don't have a projector, but it's always something to keep in mind. I guess they store much better though mounted and it saves space!
-
Reading all these EF threads recently just made me buy one on impulse off the bay.. though it's one that's been "loved" a little more in it's day!
-
Ok thanks very much. That makes sense. I was pretty sure that was the problem. Wish it wasn't such a pain to remove the film from the slides! Suppose from now on i could request that they don't mount them and just keep them in strip form which would make it a whole lot easier.
-
Hey all,
I know this scanner is designed for 35mm negative strips only (and does a decent job), but have any of you ever
used it and gotten good results with mounted slides? Just shot my first roll and tried scanning them by placing
them underneath the film strip adapter but they just come out blurry, almost like they're out of focus even
though they're not. I'm wondering if it's the extra bit of distance between the film and the scanning bed
because of the slide mount that is causing this and the scanner is just not capable of doing the job. Or am I
just doing something wrong?
Thanks,
-Cole

I was wondering.. is there an adapter that goes the other way? lets you use FD lenses on an M42 mount camera? looked for a while and couldn't find a thing.
-
I actually went to Costco yesterday when I was getting a roll of negs done and asked them if they do slides because I had just shot a roll of elite chrome and the guy said they don't do slides there :/
FDn 24mm f/2.8 is very sharp!
