1.
For weddings, my standard setup is 5DmkII with 24-70 and 50D with 70-200.

I am happy with both camera's. The 50D has never let me down and I never look at the images and wish I'd taken it on my 5DmkII.

I have heard that the 7D is a superior camera to the 50D, but I have no need to change.

 2.
Good job Brian. You should be happy with that as your first engagement shoot.
A couple of things I'd suggest...
1. Less is more. Don't be afraid to delete. I think if you cut down by half, you'd have a much stronger set. You'll know which ones.
2. Try for a few more candid type shots. Have the couple walking around and talking to each other and work around them. You'll get some really natural shots which are often the best.
I'm sure someone will comment on the more technical aspects.
Keep shooting.

 3.
Hi, I've copied this as a screen shot off my web site, so don't have the details at hand.
It would have been taken with a 5DmkII using a 24-70.
I finished it off with some texture. I liked the result, but my wife said I ruined it!
Thanks.

p.s. I'm advised that the file is over 700 pixels wide, although the image I copied was 700 wide. Anyway... I'll fix it when I get home!

 4.
Hi All, i'm heading to New Zealand next week (for work unfortunately) and will be staying in Auckland City. I won't have tons of free time but should be able to squeeze in some shooting.
Any advice on locations that are nice to shoot and/or some classic Auckland spots?
It's my first time to NZ, so I have no idea where to go.
Thanks in advance.

 5.
Hi Bill, I was in the same boat recently and went with Bludomain.

I read a bit of negative publicity about them, but took a chance anyway because i liked the templates.

I've been very happy with them. I didn't experience any of the delays that i'd read about. The only delays I had were due to time difference as I'm in Australia.

They are very easy to update and have no ads. Not even a bludomain tagline.

My site is www.simplydigitalphotography.com.au

They have a large range of templates available. Mine is from the $100 range, but there are some for $50 and some for $400.

Good luck.

 6.
Links worked for me.

I don't think these all have the same processing done to them. But I think you mean you like that old style look?

Do a google search on how to apply different effects, try different key words. There are heaps of free online tutorials. Find one you like and then make your own action.

 7.
I like both. E-mail is good as you have a written record of what was discussed.

Phone is a good way to build a relationship with a client.

I always (when possible) follow up a phone conversation with an e-mail outlining the key points agreed on. That way if there was some confusion, it gives the client the opportunity to get back to you to clarify things.

 8.
G'day Tommy, I've got the Flipside 300. It's a good bad security wise, took me a minute to realise how to get into the thing! It's a great bag for a single body and a few lenses, but it is a real push when I try to put my 28-300L in it.

It's pretty easy to get in and out of, but the straps get in the way a little bit, but not enough to bother me.

I have had 2 back up bodies in it (50D/400D) with a spare flash and 4 lenses.

One thing I'd look for in my next bag, is better organisation of the smaller things (spare camera batteries and AA's. It can get a bit hectic in there when I'm trying to store spent batteries AND fully charged ones.

I guess I've just convinced myself that I need a bigger bag! Wanna buy a Flipside 300? Just kidding. Final word... it's a great bag, I've just tried to use it for more than it's intended at times.

One thing I might do next time I'm shopping is take all my gear with me and load up the bags in store.

 9.
I'm no expert, but I have a couple of suggestions. Someone else may have a better idea.
If you want the same font size on each done by a batch, then I'm pretty sure that all of the pictures need to be the same size to start with. Otherwise, for example a font size of 100 can appear bigger or smaller on different pictures. This will be very noticable on heavily cropped pics.
I assume that a smaller standard size may be fine for watermarked pics, as you generally wouldn't be enlarging these.
For consistency, I'd probably have two folders of pics... one for Portrait and one for Landscape. This might be a pain for huge folders, but it's the way I add borders etc. to batches.
Now...
Open the first picture and start recording an action. Downsize the picture to the size of your smallest image or smaller if you wish. Add the desired text layer and then flatten the image. Now save the image and close it and then stop recording the action.
You can now use the new action for a batch. Keep in mind that the files used should only be copies of the original folders so that these don't end up as your only copies.
I hope that helps.
I'll be keen to see other responses that may improve my workflow.
10.
Have fun with it. Mum making funny noises behind you helps to get childs attention. My famous "Elephant Noise" always works for me (maybe not all that famous actually).
Good advice above from Andrew.
I'd add... get down to eye level with the child. More interesting point of view. Think about the background too. Parks etc are nice. Choose a time that best suits the child, tired and grumpy one year olds don't make great subjects... at least I know mine doesn't.
Candid shots of the child playing with favourite toys etc. are good too.
