Yes, definitely echo the perfect shutter speed comment. Everything clearly defined apart from hands & sticks, excellent! If this were a western rock or jazz drummer, the rest of teh body would also be moving. I like the facial expression, conjures up the seriousness of the rhythm. Lovely shot.

Brian, the light is probably better in the other picture but I far prefer the actual composition in this one. Congratulations on the book-cover sale!

Sorry, should have been more specific, it's a male European Robin (Erithacus Rubecula).

Brian, I was thinking of saying something about the window but I thought I'd shut up before you got annoyed with me ;-))
I don't think the eye is drawn to the details of the window, the eye is naturally drawn in to the picture as a whole by the window which is how it should be.
If you could darken the window it may enhance the image. It's definitely a photograph that will reward time spent on it, bring it to perfection!

It's almost excellent! Trouble I have is I see some things which to me cry out for improving! That blown highlight on the wood at the bottom of the image (less so the one beyond) could be fixed. Again, at the bottom of the image, the painted panels either side of the doorway look different and the lighting overall doesn't explain why this is. The whole image appears to tilt to the right.
I still like this image, and I appreciate the difficulties in getting all the elements of light & geometry just perfect!

Like this very much. Great humour, composition, toning, tension.

Image stands out but cannot see it well enough at this size to make appraisal ...

Good concept, if it were only a bit sharper (with bird still frozen) but that's available light for you ;-)

I think he's thinking: "If Einstein were right, then quantum theory
would be incomplete, but if Einstein were wrong ... oh look! peanuts!"
