1.
I have always loved this camera. I have stockpiled 5 or 6. I am quite pleased with the performance, I can live with it's shotcommings and I think it looks just fabulous, It really does!
It's auto focus is hard to fool; much more reliable than most top of the range point and shoots of the day. An underrated camera which with time will grow into a genuine P&S Classic. This camera deserves a very honest, fair and nice reveiw, which you have provided. Thank you.
I will search and find others to buy and gift to freinds, as the look is classic yet contemporary, if you know what I mean.

  2. I just love kodak tech pan shot on a minox. I develop tech pan in plain old rodinal 1.5cc to 100cc plain water (20 degrees celsius)

using a minox tank, i use a $1 siringe for agitation for 4.5 minutes, scan on my canon fs2710 using vue scan program and the results

    are unreal!

    I can't imagine a film that is much more grainless. I wil slit and shoot my 30 metres of tech pan on any of my minox cameras till I die;

    I just love it.

  3.
Great job John, that's unreal, I am busting my chops with an old CanoScan Fs2710 with some modifications, sometimes I get it working really well, other times (mostly) it has a mind of its own!
Auto color correction is right then the next scan it's all wrong, color of the mask plays some some part as well. I've tried cutting a 9.5mm split in 35mm negative with some effect but it's too labor intensive.

  4.
My top 110 cameras:
Minox 110s - by a mile ... for the control freak .. very fragile film transporter though
Rollei E110- excellent design, simple to use, outstandingly sharp T* lens
Canon 110ed 20 .... built to last, super quality, nice date stamp gimmick
Vivitar 742 xl ..... a rare rare misunderstood babe, better built than ektramax very smart features.
Ektramax ....... Excellent lens, easy to use, no batteries required (only for flash) very cheap plastic , a bit big.
Minolta slr110 MkII- very solid, great zoom lens when you can get focus right.
cannot forget:
Pentax 110 super: very cute, flexible, but results not as sharp as a few of the above cameras.
Old instamatic 60- If you can find a K type battery
These are the only cameras a serious 110 enthusiast should own. Photo results are quality, not the cheap rubbish most 110 cameras were.

  7.
The Canon MC is a very underrated, and scarce little camera. I recently tested it up against a canon sureshot 120 Classic and a sureshot 130uII.
I shot rolls of fuji reala 100 and fuji 1600. The results were amazing to say the least. This little gem is sharp. It was as good with the the reala 100 as the other cameras but with the maximum film setting of 1000 asa shooting fuji 1600, I expected grain grain and grain, particularly shooting Sydney's Harbour Bridge in the rain. Somehow the 1000 asa setting over exposes this film and the photos were stunning!, sharp and crisp, unlike the the glum grainy results of the 120 sureshot classic although the sureshot 130uII faired a little better.
The clarity and sharpness of the camera shooting indoors with available light is most surprising, (using 1600 film).
I love this little automatic everything noisy gem. I'm not letting it go. If you find one, buy it! It is not a waste of money!

  8. I have been bitten, big time!

I am a minox newbie, alway wanted one from about 10 years old.

Freinds say, thirty years too late, but I don't care.

I am regularly using a minox b, have a minox c, for family gatherings, a minox iiis for the display case and Yashica Atoron Transparent for holiday trips.

I am interested in recording my young children growing using color minox film, getting the film lab processed and scanning the negatives although I must master this. Am looking at the "best" scanner for this. I hope this forum will help.
