  1. An admirable result. Modeling on the figure is superb. And the hand pose does not look forced at all but gentle. I do not agree with the value added by the so called bokeh effect. It seems to give the model a floating effect whereas a location in space is sometimes better for a sharp realistic pose. Of course this is an artistic choice. The use of red gauze is not overdone. Meaning the emphasis on the figure study is not overshadowed by a kind of prop. Overall, a photo one can call a great success. I like it a lot, Andrew. Aloha, Gerry

A very pleasing portrait. Shows her personality. If I had any suggestion it would be that in a face shot like this it is welcome to have a little more light in the eyes, which are very dark due to the lighting. So, perhaps you might think of ways to reflect a small bit of the sun into the eye area. I like it a lot. Good work.

A simple yet fetching pose. With very nice lighting for a figure study. Just enough facial modeling to make the gaze interesting. Well done.

Has a nice rythm to it. Black background. that is a matter of taste. i like to see a subject placed in a frame more defined. But this one surely works for this model. Full of life and energy.

Cherene. To add a motivation and perhaps clarification if my comment and intent is misread. I love to flatter my female models ( from teen to maturity ). Not glamorize. But I will suggest make up choice and color choice and even some comment on how a piece of jewelry looks. And if a bra string is hanging out...that kind of stuff. Stay warm. Gerry

My' preference'is expressed in my comments. To each his own style. What I do like is the open honest sweet face and I do not want to detract from the positive features you have caught Cherene. I would be pleased to have captured this young lady. ( but I might have STILL made the suggestion anyway re garment. ) I wish you well. Aloha. GS

Again, I would have incliuded the left shoiulder. And for this model the black backround is not the ultimate best choice. Stark in my view. Personal reaciion of course. She is nice and calm model. Strong look at the camera. Model quality in other words.

At first glance I wish that you had included her left shoulder. Decent photo. Garment is not super becoming but that is what she wore. T shirt is a T shirt.
  2. Has charm. I would personally have given it a little more contrast. I can only say try different levels of contrast and see how they work out As to lighting, a little wee more modeling would not hurt, flat light is good for some purpose like a cover but I like ratioed light do you not?. Stunning appeal to eyes and her look. Cannot tell what is in back of hair, obscure object.. White dress is blinding, but eyes deserve praise, so powerful and bright...technically nice indeed..Overall is Well done.

Nice dreamy effect and the pose and garments and light are fitting same. I can only suggest that the floor is so undefined that it is hard to feel the location of same. If my point is clear. Overall very admirable.

Models should get a chance to relax. The window light is very pleasing. Only thing is that at my age this display of feminine loveliness does get my pulse up a bit. Seriously, enjoyable casual item as part of a shoot. I am assuming the anatomy was complete, if I may be so bold. Nice though.

I would normally suggest trying for more illumination on her face and hair, but given her wonderful facial bones and profile, this one just works. You have a sublime touch with the female. Enjoyable portrait.

A lovely model. My impression of the lighting is that it could be more contoured, that is less flat and more directional from a main source ... Separation from background tonality would also be nice and that might take some more playing with illumination or distances or color of bgrnd. Perhaps meter bacground couple stops lower in this case... I( I bet it also shows well in color for her hair and tonality would not dissapear same way even as a high key study...aloha, gs

I think you did well. It is hard to divorce from the roman numeral tattoo. It intrigues but also detracts. She is wholesome enough with out skin art...but I can see that is judgmental yet one gets a critique which is not judgmental is elusive. I am sure that for some it adds to her character. But how, beats me. I wish you well. I like the warm glow a lot. Ah youth. For myself I would clone out the long tattoo and not blink and eye for doing it. Lovely simple study portrait. Casual and engaging.

Captivating. If anything is a deficit it is the line of the headboard/sofa back whatever that cleaves the body so sublime and graceful. This is a rare model who holds herself in such a splendid way. Light and elfin with a touch of the sensual as well. Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and Leslie Caron in a way..that slender dancer grace and ingenue quality that shines out as from a stage.
  3. A good eye. It may only be appreciated by photographers who trod the byways of a city. I like the angle and the choices you made. Including the tree trunk on the left against the buildings in the distance. A nook in the big city. Frederic Law Olmsted would approve. Big time.
