This light is beautiful. I feel the composition could be improved, the right side branch is a bit disturbing.

This image was made in the early morning on 24 November 2012 in The
Entrance - central coast of New South Wales. This rock channel was
filled with coming waves due to a rising tide at that moment. Thanks
for viewing this image.

This photo was taken on 28 August 2012 in Tasman River, Mount Cook in
the South Island of New Zealand. The nigh scene here was fabulous:
these giant icebergs floating on the river were beautifully shed by
the moonlight. Thanks for viewing this image.

This is a well known place in Canadian Rockies, and there have been so
many images taken by other photographers about this place. Here I
tried to make a picture of it from somewhat different perspective.
This image was taken before 5am in the morning, with over 60 minutes
exposure (13 successive 4-minute exposure shots). By the time the
final exposure finished, the sky was illustrated by the rising sun far
from right side.
Thanks for viewing this image.

Nice reflection of the autumn colors.

This image was taken in a raining morning in the wild West Coast in
the South Island of New Zealand. Thanks for viewing this image.

Taken in Mount Cook, the South Island of New Zealand during the winter
time. The spiral clouds appeared over the mountain ridges under the
morning light, where the mountain ridges, icebergs and their
reflections formed a perfect symmetry. Thanks for viewing this image.

Like this symmetry form, and the peaceful feeling from this image.
-
This is beautiful, I like such details both on the mountains and their reflections, well done.

Taken from the Nub Peak, the beautiful sunset light cast on Mount
Assiniboine and Mount Sunburst. Thanks for viewing this image.

This image was taken around 5am at Kawarau River, near Queenstown, New
Zealand, on 28 August 2012. When the sky started to shine, the Milky
Way was still clearly visible. Thanks for view this image.

Neil,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, it was from the Nub. Going down in the darkness was a bit challenge indeed:) Over the four days, I went to the Nub 3 times.

Dear Per,
Thanks for viewing my image. No HDR is used for producing this image. It is a result from combining couple of shots taken in the same location, same day after sunset within one hour time frame, and each shot was indeed with different shutter speeds, apertures and ISO values in order to capture the fine details of various component of this scene.
Cheers, Yan.

Dear Karl,
Thanks for your interest in my this photo. Here is some information I can provide for you:
(1) The cloud and star reflections in the late are definitely real;
(2) This image was made in one location, on one night, within one hour time duration;
(3) This final image was combined from three shots, at different time, within this one hour interval, but at the same location;
(4) Basically, the final image represented what we would see in our naked eyes of the scene, while somehow one shot was not possible to capture.
Cheers,
Yan

This image was taken on 21 September 2012, in Mount Assiniboine,
Canadian Rockies. A dramatic sky appeared over Mount Assiniboine:
after sunset, the rising moon was hidden behind Mount Sunburst while
its light was burst from the peak, moving clouds crossed the starry
sky and formed such magic patterns.
Thanks for viewing this image.

Dear Radu,
Thanks very much for viewing my photo and writing detailed comments. -
Wanaka is a small town in Otago in South Island of New Zealand. This
image was taken in Wanaka Lake in a late afternoon when the dusk was
falling rapidly, while the lights from the town provided some
interesting backdrops.
Standing in the deep and freezing cold water to make this image, this
probably was one of the toughest photography situations I encountered
during this trip.
Thanks for viewing this image.

This image was made on 31 August 2012, exposure started around 5:00am,
and finished around 6:30am.
This was a magic moment of Tasman River at Mount Cook, New Zealand.
The glacier and the right side of the mountains were shined by the
setting full moon, while by the time when the exposur finished, the
Mount Cook (the left mountain peak) was then lighten by the rising sun
far behind the right side mountains.
Thanks for viewing this image.

10 August 2012, Sydney' winter. Around 4:20pm, the last sun ray broke
the cloud, and projected on this lone tree on the hill. Thanks for
viewing this image.

Hi David,
Thanks for your comments. Only two frames were taken to create this image, however, the first frame (for the foreground rocks) was taken about 1 hour earlier than the second one (for the sky).Regards,
Yan
