Also looking for any other recommendations for scenic landscape photography around the southern Puget Sound (Olympia, Fort Lewis) area for sunsets, or any other ideas for landscape scenery within an hour or so drive.

I am going to be out in the Olympia area from October 17-24. How is the

accessibility for shooting at Mount Rainier at this time of year? Any fall

color left? Waterfall accessibility? Paradise? I'm travelling with my two

young children so anything more than 1/4 mile hike is out this time around.

I just ordered (2) 2GB cards last weekend - huge upgrade for me, going from 512 and 256MB size! Thanks for all of your input.

Normally I do shot RAW, but for Internet posting I work with the JPG files.

I just ordered a 20D, upgrading from the 10D. What do you 20D owners out there

keep your in-camera settings at for shooting landscapes? I was keeping

sharpening at lowest setting and contrast 1 notch above normal on the 10D.

Richard, thanks for your informative response. She doesn't need the fast AF-S focusing for what she's shooting, and for the $300 difference for the heavier, non-AF-S lens, I think that's the ruote she's going to take. For those of you that own this lens, I'm assuming it probably is superior to the 18-200 optically (not that the VR lens is shabby)?

After seeing that there are four different versions of the 80-200, the one I'm referring to for D70 compatibility would be the non AF-S version.

My friend is looking at all of her options - she currently has the Nikon 18-70 and a cheap Quantaray 70-300. Does anyone know if the used Nikon 80-200/2.8 D Macro ED with 77mm threads will work with the D70?

Is anyone out there using the newer generic BP-511 1800mAh batteries in their

EOS Digital SLR? Any troubles with it not holding juice after repeated

charges? How about shooting time over the standard 1100 or 1400mAh battery?

Charge time any different? Thanks!

Even if you give them files good enough for a 4x6, with any decent home scanner they can scan the print and make their own enlargements.

Mpix.com - Kodak Endura Paper and 4x6 are 29 cents each with a two day turnaround to your doorstep. I've been using them for two years and been nothing but pleased.

Jon, I was actually in Kalamazoo, up at WMU. This was a small wedding - 50 people, one bridal attentdent, but very nicely arranged. The bride and groom were both naturals and a pleasure to work with. It was a gorgeous day, and I think this shot would have been better at 6pm instead of 4:30pm!

I shot my first wedding in a year and a half yesterday, having taken time off

for a new baby and a new house. Is this image too "cliche" in wedding imagery?

Make sure to allow for time in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Lots of incredible Maine-like shoreline, waterfalls, and a ton of copper mining history with old abandoned buildings. Check out my Upper Peninsula folder for a preview. My mom did the same exact trip you're going to do the last week of May last year and it was a bit cold, but they enjoyed themselves. For those of you that hand over full resolution CDs for weddings

(Marc, etc.), do you shoot in RAW and then turn over converted JPGs?

What resolution files are you giving? I have a wedding on 5/20 and

I'm going to be turning over CDs to the couple so they can make

their own enlargements, but wondered how some of you are handling

the file details.
