This female sparrow has been expired for days now. her mate refuses

to move on, despite what the neighbors seem to think...

    Sparrow Neighbor

Taken during the "maiden voyage" of my new Canon 600mm f/4 IS.

Unfortuneatly, the 40D was in for repair, so my backup XTi body was in

service. My first impressions of this lens are very high.

The coloring of these birds really matches these trees. I believe this

grouse is perched in a "Russian Olive" tree. I observed them eating the

    seeds this winter.

Let me know your thoughts please,

    Running Pronghorn

Any advice appreciated. Does the snow appear too blue? Any tips?

Also, the antelope are running slightly downhill. I tried correcting it to

appear that they were running horizontal, but the second pronghorn is

stepping like he his running downhill so it looked awkward.

    Thanks,

I believe this is a female ringneck pheasant. Please correct me if I am

wrong. Also, this was my first outing with my first L series Canon lens.

    Thanks for any comments.

  1. Any comments are greatly appreciated. I have made it a recent mission

of mine to photograph these highly skiddish birds. I am finding it more

    difficult than I had imagined.

    Thanks,

This is an amazing shot. Every aspect is fantastic. A touch of mystery with the partially hidden face. The relection seals the deal!

    Bravo!

I love the colors and the model is beautiful....however, her stretch marks are not. I know they are a natural part of childbirth, but I think they should have been edited out in post. Just my thoughts. Also, I think I would have left the gold mirror out in this one.

Thanks folks. Bill is always exudes an interesting subject to photograph. Unfortuneatly, he is usually surrounded by poor backgrounds. Check my "Bill" portfolio sometime, he is an interesting man...

This is my neighbor Bill. He's 94 years young. This brisk Autumn day

he was sorting his homegrown wheat on his porch. He was telling me

stories of the photographers during the war and how the troops treated

    them. Fascinating!

I keep coming back to it. You have made a beautiful capture here. The model is absolutely stunning and the setting and atmosphere is lovely. I agree with the two things mentioned above. The tree trunk/hair isn't too bad to me, but the empty bottle does detract. The image quality is top notch though, so great that I had to do a search to read up more on teh camera you used....interesting.

    Great capture!

    Regards,

    Derrick
