I agree with Peter...wait for some reviews and then decide - BUT - if it's like its little brothers, the 50mm 1.4 and the 30mm 1.4 then it's going to be very tempting.

Wouldn't place much credibility on rumours...I think we all just have to wait. I must admit to being very curious as to which "direction" they'll take...The D3S road or the D3X road...or maybe a third option?
-

I've heard so many people complain about not having enough photos of their children...I reckon keep on shooting and fill those hard drives!

I have the Sigma 50 f1.4 and it's wonderful. Here in Oz it's currently around Aus$100 LESS than the Nikon equivalent. Currently waiting for the 85 f1.4....yummm

Very disappointed in all of you...that's all I'M going to say...maybe...look, just go back to your rooms, ok?

Just a thought out of left field...have you considered a short but intense workshop with a top-level wedding pro? I've seen people transformed after this. It would only cost maybe a few hundred dollars but maybe...just maybe...save you thousands if you switch.

Carn the CATS! See you Monday

Hi, Tommy..I have the S90 and am very happy with its performance thus far. I basically take it everywhere, just in case...been caught out too many times without a camera to hand! A friend of mine has the Panasonic LX3 which you might want to check out as well. Not certain if the SX210 has raw...all the best

"The best camera is the one you have with you"...Chase Jarvis...not sure if this includes the Nikon D2H

As I have to go to bed soon I only read a small portion of what one could only hope will be part one of a four part trilogy. Perhaps you might include a chapter on which of Tony's two sons suffers from middle child syndrome? Andrew, Andrew, Andrew...I may surmise then that you are insane? Good...I like that. Are you a Sydneysider? There seems to be a hint of banana-bender in there, waiting to be set free. Oh, and Mark L. Cooper..not all Aussies are insane. I have an eleven year old son who is quite normal. You can only imagine how disappointed I must feel...Love from Downunder

The colour red...always looks great

I have the S90 and love it...a friend of mine has the LX3 and loves it. Try each one and see how it feels in YOUR hands. The image quality of both is great.

Had this little beauty for a couple of months now...no problems with it. I have small hands though, so if you are a bit ham-fisted/extra manly, have a play with it instore.

Just remembered an experience in a cafe about a year ago...I was sitting there sipping my latte (or was it a flat white?) and fiddling with a new lens when a woman approached me and asked if I was a tourist. After replying in the negative she gave me a bewildered look and said "Oh...I was wondering about the camera". You see? We are all just TOURISTS, bonded together in the vacation of life...Canonites to the back of the bus please". Whatever. I think I'll have that coffee now, doctor. Better make it a strong one.

Just drink it

You're right, Marcel. It was shot on the 7D. British actress Emma Thompson is producing a small independent movie called "The Journey" which is filmed entirely on a 5D mk2. I read an interview with an American celebrity photographer who said that big name Hollywood directors are looking at using the 5D mk2 for future projects. Who would have thought this twelve months ago?

Andie MacDowell = most gorgeous 50-something alive. Benjamin, I can't believe you didn't let us know BEFOREHAND. Don't expect a Christmas card from me this year, "buddy". And when I shoot Eva Green I WON"T be telling you. So there.

Yes, Peter, that's the one. Even made this Nikonian's heart beat faster! No, Enrique, it's not those two.

For those of you who haven't seen this: Go to Youtube and check out the Canon EOS 7D commercial. Owners of this camera are gonna be feeling pretty pleased with themselves when they watch it!

I asked the same question myself a while back. Two things stopped me. 1: Wedding pro with 5D mk2 shooting bride at home. Says "OK, I'm done". Before leaving home bride and father share quiet intimate moment. Photographer turns on video mode and captures this secretly. Upon choosing pics after the wedding family comes upon strange file. "Click on it" says the photographer. Bride and family burst into tears. Photographer hailed as hero. True story. 2: Someone tells me "Go to Youtube and watch Canon EOS 7D commercial". I obey. Whole thing shot on 7D's video mode. Wow. Check it out.

Hi Donna. Sigma has just announced a 70-200 f2.8 with optical stabiliser that would be great for sport. I agree with Eric's choice of the two Tamrons...I've used both...they're sharp and LIGHT. You may want to get a technician to look at the D50, maybe, just maybe it could be a quick and inexpensive fix. Good luck

I think the best recommendations have been mentioned here. I chose a Canon S90 over the G11 because of its "pocketability". I took it out to dinner the other night where it turned into Tricia Helfer...what followed was vivid, focused and RAW. Eat your heart out, Ted! Love from Downunder

Someone once told me of several walking tours of "old" London. Streets and buildings which haven't changed for years. Now that would be worth shooting...you might even see Jack the Rippers old haunts!

Hi, Gerry...I, too, am no Canonite, but was given a copy of this book by one of my heathen Canonite aquaintences. And yes, it's a terrific publication, highly recommended. Sadly it seems pretty rare in Australia...how about the US? Love from Downunder
