Hey guys
thanks for all the responses to my problem. Ray I dont see the 9600 anywhere on the printers listed on epsons web site. I e-mailed epson and this is there reply.
"Regrettably there are no plans to introduce a Windows 7 driver for your STYLUS-PRO-9600-UCM printer. Windows has a resident driver that you can load so that you can continue to use your printer."

does anyone know what there talking about? this was all the info they gave me thanks epson. I know its an older printer but come on guys this is unexceptable to me and Im sure for many others. The 9600 is a work horse and has many years of life left in it.
I guess I will upgrade to the pro version of windows 7so I can run it in xp mode and when I need to replace my printer I will most likely get a canon

I can't beleave the monster this post has be come . Guys please stop I get it. I was in a bad mood an let the first rating of what was a sub par image get to me. when I look back I was being childish and it won't happen again.

-

The horse is dead I am sorry I said anything at all I will just live with what I get and shut up. Lets seal up the bag of worms I opened and let this post die. The image has recovered nicely and has gotten some high ratings that it does not deserve and is on avg. around 5/5 where I thought it should be to begin with.
thank you all and no hard feels
love ya

@Mark M
you are in some ways right and thats the kind of honesty I am looking for. The image does need to be reworked. I did the PP very late last night and plan to rework the image today. I am wondering (sence there are no images on your page) have you ever tryed a shot like this?

-

You are right Michael when I first started my p.net account I would rate on all kinds of images. Then I realized that I should not give out low ratings without a reason why and now I only rate images that I think are 5/5 or higher because most of the time I dont have the time to include a full critique.

-

Also Im not looking for pats on the back or flickr type post what I want is honesty and if you think it is a below ave. image tell me why as matt has done.

-

I think you guys are missing my point. It has nothing to do with if you like it or not. It is a delibrate low rating. I got a 3/3 on another image one time that was not anonymous so I e-mail the giver just to ask why.He told me he never even hear about photo.net before. Someone had made an account in his name just to give out bad ratings. I am only wondering why ppl would do this. And Matt I didnt no nocturnal waterfalls where such common place maybe next time I should go out during a forest fire when the pine trees are ablaze maybe that would be more original.

-

I was just wondering why ppl feel the need to give very low ratings to very good photos. I see it all the time on photo.net. 3/3 and 4/4 on photos that are at lease 5/5 or higher and its not just my work. Is it just me or are there ppl out there who just hate on other ppls images. I think photo.net has a responsablity to try to put a stop to it some how.The last image I posted was hit by a 3/3 rate right out the gate and I must say I'm a little pissed. Any way I think if your going to give ppl low ratings it should be with a reson why.

My epson 9600 is saying my cyan cartridge is empty but when i went to change it it still feels at least half
full. Has any one had this problem? any adv. ?
Thank you

thanks ken but I tried the dng converter and was not happy with the results. it seemed like I was losing date in the conversion (15mb file became 12mb file) and there was a lot of purple and magn. fringing in the high lights that was not there after using the canon software. I really do not like the canon software but I really
really hate fringing in my high lights. any adv. ?
