1.
Lost the Aperture control on my P6 Biometer 2.8/80 which brought me to tears. Searching around I found a reference to Stanislav at Mechanical Camera Repairs, NY. After calling he confirmed he could handle the job and quoted a very reasonable price (in today's world I rate any lens repair for under US$100 as reasonable) so off it went. Returned within 10 days in perfect condition. In the absence of JDL, such support for Pentacon lenses is worth knowing.

 2.
Bill, given your location you might want to contact Vancam Service in Vancouver BC. Phone: (604) 736-4113.They do most of my stuff.
Tony

 6.
"So I would have bought a cheap West German made fixed lens non rangefinder like everyone else".

Alan,
I did exactly that. An early Paxette.
Tony

 7.
JDM, Thank you for generating and supporting the enthusiasm I have developed for this Forum over the years (especially regarding my beloved Pentacon Six). I am currently struggling to return after 2 years away with health issues. It can be done. All the best, Tony.

 8.
As an aside, when I bought my first 35mm camera in New Zealand it was an early Paxette (late 50's ?). The vendor told me it was cheap because the Post-war German Government had a negative excise tax (read export subsidy) on optical exports. What ever, it allowed me as a teenager to afford the camera.

 9.
SP, thanks to you and the Exakta for a wonderful visual and learning experience.

 10.
Robin,

You can see it in the use of Tilt & Swing

 11.
JJ, Lovely images illustrating LF uniqueness. Thank you.

 12.
Slightest moisture is the problem. After last use, always wash the reel in water with a few drops of wetting agent such as Photo Flo and dry. Before use I give a brief blow-over with my wife's hair dryer.

 13.
Happy New Year to all. Another vote for a combined Film Only Forum. Perhaps achievable in 2015?

 14.
JDM,
Thank you for the history info and some nice images. The Pentacon 6 with the 50, 80 and 180 is my goto MF camera. I also have and use adapters to M42 and K-mount. With great winding care I have had no overlap problems todate.

 15.
Darin, a classic source with Old Timer, the Bridges and Miranda all outstanding images. Thank you.

 16.
Thank you Marc, Tony, Rick, Robert & Wouter and yes Rick, it's good to be back.
