It looks like you all share the same suggestion and/or opinion - just like the following one by David Schilling of Chicago, Illinois...

" Never, ever, ever use a new piece of gear or a new technique at a wedding unless it's been fully tested and you are completely familiar with it. The time for experimentation and learning is before the wedding and not during the wedding."

I hear you all and my heart-felt thanks goes out to you for your time and suggestions!

BTW I already got it and 'm shooting till I drop----testing and testing and testing and .....

Thanks Brooke - I can't wait to see it!

Hello photog family,
I am so pleased to share with you that I just placed an order for D300S to be delivered tomorrow - which is right on time for this weekend's wedding photography project.

That being said, the question to you is whether [putting in to consideration that I have never used the D300S] I should use it as a back-up camera to my lovly D80 or use it as a primary one?

FYI Thanks to such forums on photo.net and my friend/mentor, I have learned a whole lot of technics using my D80 and it is time for upgrade.

Open to any feedback.

Correction...

"Astro is very hug..." meant to say "Astro is very huge".

Hello Naikonaits...

Very good coca-cola - pepsi story line, Jose!

The WedNEsDAy, it looks like it dedicated for Dogs...

The following photo was taken last Sunday. It is a photo of my best friend with his dog-Astro. Astro is very hug and he thinks Astro is Anatolian Sheep Dog breed.

The photo was taken with D40 at 18mm f/6.3 1/160sec at ISO400 with direct sunlight setting.

Pedro Cardoso - that is so detailed photo and nice sleep photo! I wish I could sleep like that. I am glad you did it in BW btw.

My contribution today is from July '09. I took this photo using my wife's D40. I saw some term that I haven't paid attention to before - 'Exposure Bias Value = 0/6'. If you can help me translate this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Great WedNEsDAy photo day!

These last couple of days have been great experience for me and my family. We got our bundle of joy - a handsome baby boy [Nathan]-born on Monday the 22nd at 16:15 eastern time. - labor, well, labor is never great but thanks God for giving my wife the strength to push for only 15 minutes.

In any case, I had a great opportunity to experience manual shooting. Shot some pictures that made me proud of myself. The following photo is one of them -

Shot BW by my wife's D40 at 55mm 1/100sec F6.3 at ISO400 natural light....hand-held.

NO post-production was applied except for cropping.
