Lovely shot, Carlos. The shot has precision & clarity, & captures the subject's fragile presence.

Intriguing night-time surrealist shot here, Catherine. Best, B

    Great capture, Joern. Best, B.
  4. Like this capture - looks like quite the character. Somehow rather poignant.
  5. Very nice Jack - a primordial diptych.
  6. Strong image. I like that you leave the lady with her own space & dignity.

  8. Nice mini-series you got here, Steve. Best, B
  9. Great capture- has the energy of an expressionist piece, with complimentary fine-art frame. Well spotted! Best, B.

    Amour

Cheers, Carlos - I've been meaning to check Amour out - I do like Haneke's work [Code Unknown is one of my favourite films]. Nice loft!!

    Amour

Such a striking juxtaposition - is that a TV screen or a photograph? Secondly, I notice the dog, as prompted by the title, & finally the really great looking room. These elements combine to convey a charmingly cluttered, homely scene - nicely captured.

Strong sense of presence & sexuality here. Striking portrait.
  13. <p>Hi Lex -<br> Thanks for your input.<br> Yes, I agree that these cameras are now overpriced & I am not likely to buy a second one. Though I would like to see if I can get it repaired, since I use it very often. I own a couple of other good point & shoot cameras [including the T5], but they lack the extra functionality - exposure compensation, bulb exposures, advanced focus pre-sets, etc. - which I find to be fairly essential. <br> Thanks for the Ricoh/Pentax link - though they list their film cameras as "<em>NO LONGER SERVICED" - </em>I'll see if there's another way to contact them.<br> Best, <br> B<br> </p> <p> </p>
  14. <p>Update: I've not yet heard anything back from Ricoh this time around -[support@ricohpmmc.com] - last time I sent it to an outlet based in Kent.<br> The other lead I had is for a small firm in Germany that apparently were known to specialise in Ricoh GR cameras [fototechnikbraig@gmail.com] - also no reply from them since a week or so.<br> Does anyone have any contact info for a decent repair outfit that still services these cameras? <br> Best, <br> B</p>
  15. <p>Hi Ferdi - thanks for your reply. <br> Yes, I've checked the battery - it is fine. The contacts too must be fine, as the camera is responding to the on button as normal, apart from the lens barrel jam. Seems there definitely some malfunction - now there is a kind of buzzing sound from the motor that is trying to open. One of the leaves in front of the shutter can me opened manually, while the other seems to be stuck. <br> Any more responses welcome!<br> Cheers, <br> B</p>
  16. <p>Hi -<br> <br /> After a day of shooting with Ricoh GRs1 35mm point & shoot film camera, I noticed that the lens barrel no longer extends once the 'on' button is pressed. The camera responds otherwise as usual when I turn it on - the display screen lights up & presents the number of shots as normal.<br> I had at times during the day kept the camera jammed in my pocket & the weather was quite humid. I'm hoping it's something simple like a piece of grit that's jamming it, rather than an electronic malfunction.<br> <br /> Has anyone had a similar experience? Can anyone offer a (preferably) DIY solution to such a problem? Ricoh still do repairs, but it can be pricey to avail of this service. I've had to do this once & would prefer not to sink any more money into this camera.<br> Failing that, anyone got a good price on a Contax T3? ;)<br> <br /> Cheers,<br> <br /> B</p><div></div>
  17. Strong image - oddly peaceful, yet rather destitute. The colours / composition work very well here.

    Sunday Gage

    I like your style, Carlos . . . ;)
  19. Nicely captured - the chaotic element isolated & framed, a photographic 'ready-made'. These abstracts are your métier!
