1.

It’s an easy decision for me, it would be the photography
that took weeks to capture. My Belted Kingfisher taken in Alberta Canada Wolfcreek river valley early morning before
sunrise
Equipment used
Pentax K7 300mm F2.8 @ F4.0 1/4sec. iso 400
Tripod, cable release, MLU, rice bag and hunting tent
2.
When you open your bag and cannot find the lens you need
that the one you should get, Just kidding . I would look at a true macro lens a
1:1 ratio. They can open your eyes to a new world beneath your feet. I like the 100mm
Fl for macro that can be used as a short telephoto.

  3.
Nature photography is all about preparation, patience’s and understanding your subject.
It breaks my heart that people link nature to an animal living in a zoo. There is nothing more rewarding than to capture or at least seeing a wild animal in their native environment.

  7. Congratulation on your recent purchase. Once you get settled down with the lens I may have a few questions for you. My major concern with the 500mm does it have an issue with a focus shift as you step down the lens. I know with my sigma 300 2.8 going from wide open to f4 I would start to see a back focus but once around f5.6 it starts to correct its self. Thank you ahead of time for the review.
  8.
At this time I have picked up my K5 I ran it thru some tests it looks to be clean. It has a new serial # so I guess it was replaced. As far as the metering problems I had with other lenses that problem has cleared up all my important glass works. While setting up the camera all but one of my lenses have serious BF issues well beyond the fine tune adjustment. I am going to send the camera away next fall for the BF only because I would like to use it for this winter holidays, next spring and summer. After that I don’t care.

  9.
With what has happened to me with the K5 I have looked back and took an inventory count with my pentax gear. Anything I have purchased after pentax went DLSR has had a 33% failure rate inside the warranty period that is lenses and bodies. Then when I go back and look at my Sigma glass much of which is older than my pentax DA and DA* I find that all still have no issues besides the 105 macro I dropped. At this time I am lost for words as what I will do with pentax.

  10.
Thank you for the input,
I am going to ask that they increase the warranty coverage for the time the camera has been away. I don’t know at the lemon laws in Canada too well but I am going to look into that. At this time all I want is my camera back!!

  11.
I received a phone call today enlightening me that I will have my k5 back in 2 weeks. When I total up the time th

at this camera has been away it will be 15.5 weeks for the warranty repair. My question should I demand that

my warranty be increased equal to the duration the camera has not been in my posse

  12.
Just updates on my K5, went into the camera shop today and still no word on my camera. I picked up a CF card and took out a D300s,D7K and 200-400mm F4 II with a 2xconv and filled the card and will review photos later tonight, I am very surprised at how well the 200-400mm with 2x both in IQ and AF. Next week I have a date with some Canon equipment and will go from there.

  13.
3 days’ work comes down to a shutter speed of 1/15sec
I had spotted the Belted Kingfisher several times this year using this old stump, I went out Saturday and was skunked. This Sunday 5:30am I hit the road arriving before sunrise I setup in hurry and 20min before the light I was looking for guess who shows up. After that I never seen him again and left the site at 11:00am better luck next time. Taken with the k7 sigma 300 2.8 1.4conv iso 800 1/15sec F??
