Hi Mugundhan.
Thanks for the reply. I will play with it when I get a few mins and I can restrain my 2 year old daughter long enough to get some shots (yea right). I will let you know if I get any out of focus shots (that aren't my fault).

Hi Mugundhan;
Is that the Tamron SP 28-75mm XR Di f/2.8 you are using?? Those are beautiful shots.
If so, I just picked up that lens used yesterday for a great price (haven't had time to try it on my K10D yet) and if that is what the lens can do, I am VERY happy I bought it.

I use Firefox with exif viewer as well as several other add-ons and the picture of the week threads load almost instantly. I think it may be a problem on your end.
If Firefox is too "slow" for you, I suggest using Fasterfox to speed it up. I use it and Firefox is blazing fast for me, and always has been.
-
Did you shoot them in RAW or JPEG? In RAW, NONE of the in-camera post processing effects are done, such as noise reduction, white balance, sharpness, contrast, etc.
-
They are a hair soft, but still great pics.
-
Not everything. The DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 I just purchased at Adorama is $100 more at prodigital2000. ;)
-
I noticed it distorts the pics if they are too large when you link them. I had the same problem and tried posting smaller pics and the problem went away.
-
And one more for your viewing pleasure.

The DA* 50-135mm is - in a nutshell - a tack sharp lens with excellent color and contrast.
Here is an example of my daughter I shot with it and I have done nothing but resize it. :)

Sigma lenses (the new ones) have HSM as well as the new DA* lenses from Pentax. I just picked up the DA*50-135mm f/2.8 with SDM hoping it would be much faster than the screw drive focus. It's not. It's QUIETER, but I wouldn't say it's that much faster. I was kinda choked about that. Don't get me wrong, I love the lens. It's tack sharp and takes bloody nice shots, but it doesn't focus much faster than the rest of my screw drive lenses. :)
-
BTW, Jacques, that link is for the Sigma not the Tamron, and AFAIK, the Sigma only works with Sigma lenses.
-
Hahahahahaha Great pictures.
Scot T: You are in Vic? I am just across the water (via the craptastic BC Ferries we all love so much) in Van. Cool. I didn't know there was anyone from out my way in here. :)

That's really cool.

I am just heading off to bed, but I will comment on a few pics (although I think they are all great).
Morgan: I love the farmhouse shot. It's almost eerie.
Del: The last shot you posted with the lightning is killer. That would make a great wallpaper in full size.

Great pictures guys. I love the colors.

Jacques: Thanks for the link, my next question was going to be: Where do I find one? heh
Is that the version that is compatible with SDM?
-
Thanks for the info guys. I had never thought of the Tamron, only the Sigma. I will look into it.
-
Hey gents/ladies;
I just have a quick question. Does anyone know (I can't seem to find one) if
there is a 1.4x teleconverter available that will work with the DA* 50-135mm
f/2.8 and retain autofocus (preferably SDM) and auto metering, or are they all
manual focus/metering only?
Thanks!
Cory
BTW, the more I use this lens, the more I love it. I can't believe the price
difference between USA and Canada though. I bought it from Adorama, paid $50US
for overnight shipping to Canada and paid taxes and STILL saved $300 over buying
it locally.

David:
You asked for it.... :P

Yea, Justin, you are correct. I have taken great shots with my $99 FA 28-70mm f/4. Heck, all the indoor model shots I posted in that other thread a while ago were taken with that lens. In fact, our dealer puts out a professional magazine every few months that gets circulation everywhere and I just found out they want to use MY pictures for the 12 page spread on the fashion show. :)
-
Christopher: I just adjusted the curves slightly in Photoshop to brighten it a tad, and then a little bit of unsharp mask. :)
-
LOL Anything I can do to feed someone's disease (other than my own), just let me know!!
-
I have to say it outright. I love this lens. This is my first "pro" lens (my
others are a Tokina 80-400mm f/4.5~5.6, and an FA 28-70mm f/4), and it is one
sexy piece of glass.
This is the first shot I took with it of my daughter on an overcast day.
