    quick product shot

          1

This was done about six years ago. I had approximately 1/2 hour to set it up, shoot and stick

it onto a poster. My boss cleared off her desk, I used window and office lighting, and a new

(for that time) digital, 4.0 megapix. Since the original was tilted on the poster, I straightened

it out a bit, which required a bit of cropping. Critiques please?

  1. Ole, I like this one a lot. He is just entering my field of view, soaring on the breezes. The warm colors make me feel the warmth of the scene. I've enjoyed your portfolio very much, and cannot see any reason you should be getting low ratings.

Thank you for your critique on my photo too. That was a good idea.

    Best Regards,

    Dave

  2. Marshall, I do like the pic, and the house. I personally wouldn't worry about cropping the bottom area, to me it gives the water and pic a "stopping point"...it frames the bottom. Could use a bit more saturation and warmth though. Nice shot.

    The Exit

David, this shot seems a bit grainy to me. If it's film, perhaps don't push it so far. If it's digital, not sure but try a wider aperture. I'm just a beginner, but those are my thoughts. I know, it seems to be a bit hard to get constructive critiques.

Ole, thank you for the critique. I've been stuggling with this one a bit. The previous version is on my portfolio, but it seems that this isn't as nice a pic as I think. The ratings are pretty poor, and few wish to tell me why.

Oh well, I'm still trying and will get better! BTW, I really like your Pisa picture. Very good color and mood. Thank you.

Sherle, I love this photo! You've taken me to one of my favorite spots...the woods on a foggy day. I can almost smell the forest. Thanks for sharing this.

    On The Lookout

Lauren, there's a sense of waiting, of time standing still until a moment that's coming finally arrives. That's how I see it anyway...but I've been told I'm nuttier than a fruitcake! However, I like it lots. Thanks for posting this one.

    BLACK & WHITE

It is almost monochrome and that works wonderfully with the soft lighting. The subtle colors

are excellent...it gives me a feeling of peace, although I couldn't possibly explain why. Thank

    you for this fine posting.
