Thanks a lot for your visit and your comments : it's always such a pleasure to read you all.

Yes we finaly met : we already knew we had a lot of common interests in photography, and as we are living in the same city, it was just a matter of time before we met IRL.

The very first thought I had when meeting Drew was photo related, and how photography can be deceptive : I saw Drew only on his autoportraits, but I couldn't have any idea about how very tall Drew really is !

I have to say that this time spent together was one of the most relaxing I had in months, and not only did we discover so much more shared interests than photography, but wandering around together and shooting, was extremely interesting, because, at least for me I realised how two different persons, beeing at the same place at the same time, could actually see two completely different worlds...

Ton and Pnina : please just let me know when you intend to be in London : I now know that Photonet gets such another dimentsion when we also meet in persons as Josh mentions ;-)

Fred : Actually your comment is extremely interesting because the lighting here was not under control, and I actually choose this one over some others mostly for the points you mention : visual clarity as well as composition, and thanks to you, I now discover the unconscious part of this choice : This portrait really is actually a portrait of Drew the photographer rather than a portrait of Drew. And yes sometimes Drew's work can be extremely dark as in the "abyss" or the "Black and White" series, but my portraits of Drew my friend, are quite different : we spent the afternoon having great fun laughing a lot !

  1. "End Stages" sounds good : It means you'll be over with it very soon : You'll be back all over the city with your camera before you know it.

( and no TV is good ( very good ))

I had to be away from PN for quite a while ( You should get use to that by now ;-)) )

I have a lot of photos to go through, and as awlays, I take my time to look at rather than just see photos. You'll probably get a few comments from me in the next few days/weeks.

Marija Braut is a powerfull master of photography, is still inspiring and teaching many artists through her work.

Now through your very fine photo, you as a photographer, and Marija Braut now as a model are both teaching us what a portrait should be.

    Many thanks

Love the time of the day you choose to take this photo : the mood is fantastic. But what I like the most here, is the completely blank advertising board : this is something we almost never see in town.
  2. Thanks a lot for your constant support and interest : I appreciate very much.

Finding comic in death, I agree, that could perhaps be a better way for us to leave with less fears. Thing is that Death beeing the only certainty we, as human have, it is always a very important matter.

"Comic", of course doesn't have to mean disrespect or mockery : mockery would be I think, nothing else than an expression of fear / denial about death.

Now about my point of view,I am quite curious, about what you mean : when I saw this scene, I was absolutely litteral in what I saw : " stones close to each other"

And my title is actually speaking about the stones which were put in this place after the death of two persons, stones getting closer to each other over time, stones not known to be able to die as easly as us humans, therefore turning around the whole concept of " till death do us apart" .

  3. That is a really wonderfull photo !

the reflections of the windows on the ground let us imagine the city, but then what we see is only the ground of this city, and the people living there, telling the city life : exhaustion for some even if they are part of some groups, and total isolation for others.

  4. Loic,

So it was you who were shooting just next to me then ??

Actually it is interesting because the pound is now cleaned for the first time since decades, and we usualy don't see the pipe system, and that is why i shot it.

But eventhough the comp was ok, I felt somthing din't really work like it was. Usually, when I don;t know what to do with a photo I just rotate or flip it : It always gives our eye a completely new way of seeing an image.

And the rotation made me get the title, which I think gives another dimension to the idea.

    Guiseppe,

hehe thanks. I have to say that beeing a bit stressed at the moment, I have difficulties remembering my dreams : so i need to create some when I'm awake...

thank you both for your time

The position of the couple's legs in opposition with the tilt of the horizon, the repetition with the couple painted in the wall ...

Both extremely dynamic and very sensual : that's the very soul of Tango.
