I think what you're seeing is the film grain of the triX film I used to shoot this shot. I am going to try to get a larger print made and maybe get the negative scanned professionally rather than relying on a flatbed scanner.

The subject is quite upsetting but it manages to be beautiful at the same time. Great work. This photo has real power.
