    three Spires

          1

Every time I pass these spires I yearn to capture its essence. I am

told that the two spires/stacks on the left may be torn down soon so

if anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve upon this image,

please let me know while I can still take more.

I look forward to your comments.

    Thank you.

This is another favourite from my recent model shoot. I liked the

childelike look of the subject. I almost imagine there should be a

teddy bear somewhere abouts. What do you think?

  1. This is my favourite shot from my recent model shoot because I think

it shows the models vulnerability. Again I wonder if it's better in

colour or B/W. I am leaning towards colour, but what do you think.

Taken in a series of shots in a photoshoot I did last week. This is

among my 5 favourites, but am torn as to whether it's better in colour

    or b/w.

    Here is the b/w version

    Magnolia B/W

A Magnolia flower in the Royal Botanic Gardens. B/W conversion using

Power Retouche and some darkening of background elements to make the

    flower pop more.

  2. A really strong image. You must have been up very early or late in the afternoon to get this nice contast, adding to the impact of the image. My only suggestion would be to clone out the person in the background, or to have taken two exposures to bring out the detail in the person.

    Shells

Simple and simply beautiful. Great work.

I like the sand. It adds to the organic feel of the shell and reminds us of its natural origin and environment. I wouldn't change a thing.

  3. Sharp, great contrast, and I love the idea of an eye closup and this one was executed very well. Good angle making the eye more oblique. I think a shot like this would work in either colour or B/W. Very nice.

I was using a filter to create those deeply saturated blacks you see in Tri-X. It doesn't look underexposed on my colour calibrated monitor, but it was brighter when in colour and before b/w processing to increase the contrast. As for the buildings. How about this as a solution.
