1.
Hello, I listed this lens on eBay and it was literally sold within minutes. Now I am having that regret of not listing it at a higher price :/ It was in its original case with the filter holder (and a filter inside it). It is in absolute mint condition. Just out of curiosity, how much would you have paid for it? Thanks in advance.
2.
Hello I have a Pen EES-2 and I just tried putting on my Canon Speedlite 580EXII on it to see if it would sync. It does! Now I know that Pen EES-2 automatically sets the shutter speed at 1/40 secs. So I know that ETTL probably doesn't work *wink* I intend to bounce the flash off of a ceiling, so on manual setting what is a good power to use it? Thanks in advance. Daniel.

  3.
I just had a question about which format I should save my negatives into.
I kept on saving it as JPEG file for awhile, but for some reason I decided to save it as a TIFF file. The JPEG file takes about 15mb, whereas TIFF file takes around 60mb. So I don't want to waste any space if there is no difference between the JPEG and TIFF, becuase there was none to my naked eye.
Your answer are much appreciated! Thanks! Daniel.

  4.
You should expect much regret.

As an experienced eBay lurker,
T-90, $150-$200
A-1, $80-130
Motor Drive MA, $70-100
17mm f/4, $100-$150
24mm f/2, $150-$250
35mm f/2, $70-$150
50mm f/1.4, $50-100
100mm f/4 Macro, $80-$150
200mm f/2.8, $100-200

By selling these individually, after PayPal and eBay fees, you will sell these off at about $700. Which is equal to about EF 17-40mm f/4L.

I have an extensive FD gear, but I also have Canon digital equipment with a couple of L lenses. There's still something that digital just cannot express what film can. DON'T DO IT!

  5.
Thank you Mark, Christ, Dave, and Ulric. I have specified the chemicals and accessories that I would like to get on B&H, please check the list and tell me if anything (size of chemicals or equipments, etc) should be added or removed. Thanks in advance!
6.
Hello, I am looking into developing on my own. So could someone please help me with the materials that I would need to develop on my own? Here's what I know:

Inversion tank with lid and reel
Dark bag
Developer, fixer
Thermometer, timer, graduate, tray

Please elaborate on the list. And guess which lens I used to take the picture! Thanks in advance! Daniel.

00S9Mn-105666084.jpg.e4db466107c8c2323f29f753ca56ce0b.jpg

  8. Sorry Rene, I was unaware that you lived abroad. Yeah! $95 is one hell of a price in Japan. lol. If 300L is too expensive, consider 300 f/4. I found one in great condition with the cap, tripod collar, and the drop-in filter for around $150. Pictures from that lens is especially amazing! The 100-300L went for around $200. The 5.6 brightness is only good for bright outdoor sports or wildlife. If you use 400 film, I don't think the tripod is necessary. Another alternative would be a 200mm f/2.8 with 1.4X extender. I would get f/4 effective aperture. I'll be looking forward to your pictures!
  9. I bought it for around $80 on eBay, a bargain price. Later I purchased 24mm f/2.8, and did not see much use for it. So I sold it for around $150 to a professor in Switzerland. When I did use the glass, I usually used it for landscapes, so I didn't see much difference in IQ, at least to my amateur eyes.
00RTr5-88191584.jpg.8e1eb8356d55725ce5af47f3320fa71a.jpg

  10. I noticed that Canon WA primes are sharp form prints, but when I scanned the negatives, I was amazed by the

results. I used Epson 4990 PHOTO (antecedent of V700 which I'd like to purchase sometime soon). The shot was

taken in Mt. Rainier State Park in WA state last summer. It was shot wide open at 2.8. Post your WA shots!
00RMrh-84815584.jpg.b467a550503347d26caa36045e48e581.jpg

  11. I have two different set ups:

    One is the pre-FD equipment:

Canon FT QL with Canon Booster

    FL 19mm f/3.5R

    FL 35mm f/2.5

    FL 58mm f/1.2

    FL 135mm f/2.5

    The other is nFD equipment:

Canon A-1 with Motor Drive MA and Speedlite 199A

    nFD 24mm f/2.8

    nFD 35mm f/2.8

    nFD 50mm f/1.4

    nFD 50mm f/3.5 Macro

    nFD 85mm f/1.8

    nFD 100mm f/2.8

    nFD 135mm f/2.8

    nFD 200mm f/2.8

    nFD 35-105mm f/3.5

    nFD 70-210mm f/4

    nFD 100-300mm f/5.6

I can tell you that all those lenses are amazingly sharp. From the focal lengths that you specified, you should definitely get:

    20mm f/2.8 (or 17mm f/4)

    24mm f/2

    28mm f/2

    35mm f/2

    50mm f/1.4

    100mm f/2

    85mm f/1.8

    200mm f/2.8

All of those are amazing lenses and are infallible. I just got my FL 19mm f/3.5R for $160 (which is a bargain) and I love this lens! If you're okay with zooms, consider 20-35L, 28-50, 28-85, 35-105, and 80-200L

  12. I recently bought a Canon FT on eBay for $20 and realized that it could not meter in low light, so I went ahead and bought the booster! Very inconvenient since I have to close the viewfinder, meter and carry the shutter speed over to the camera body itself. However I'd say this is one of Canon's forgotten accessories.
00PeNO-46181684.jpg.9189f4c7eff2a0a0d38f7f952adbd24f.jpg
