1.
I may be wrong but I thought all true Spotmatics were screwmount? If you can find a good one stick with a true Spotmatic so you can use the M42 lenses. Find some good SMC Takumars and you can't go wrong. What focal length depends on what you want to photograph but for sure get a classic 50mm. Another nice one is the Tak 105mm f/2.8. Enjoy.

 2.
Nice photos.

I have some idea why you enjoy those Limited lenses: They are finely crafted perfectly machined tools for photography :)

I had the pleasure of using a the 35mm f/2.8 Limited Macro for a few weeks and it was the finest lens I've ever used. The feel, the precision and of course the photos you can get from it are extraordinary. I don't think there is a big difference between the 40 and 43 image quality wise. Maybe someone else on the forum who has used both can answer that.

 3.
The D90 is a great combination of ease of use for the beginner and plenty of options and customization combinations for advanced user. Size is just right (for me) light weight and ergonomics. I can see using this camera for years to come as I get great images with it.

 4.
There is something about Corvettes that just gets to me. They just look so good on the road. They don't just drive on the road they hug the road. They're low, wide and have a wonderful rumble that make me just stare and enjoy the sounds of a true performance V8 engine. I've never driven one and sat in one once at an auto show. Maybe one day I'll get to drive one.

Guess that is one more thing to put on my bucket list.

There is nothing like sports car racing. As a former corner worker I used to see and feel the engines of these cars up close, and at full song. I've been out there in the rain too. These photos really bring back some fond memories. Thanks Bryan.

 5.
You make me sick. ;-)

The only Limited lens I've used was the 35mm macro. I rented it. What an outstanding lens it is to. One of these days I'm going to get a Limited for my very own. Not sure which one though...

You should get that new Limited lens case to hold all your little jewels.

 6.
Good Lord Have Mercy! A cornucopia of Pentax! Look at all those lenses. Now I know how Canon and Nikon users feel when they walk into a local camera shop... or Best Buy, Ritz Camera, Wolf Camera or Walmart...

 7.
Let's see, what to get with an extra $800.00? Easy for me. I would put it toward and brand new Pentax K7...

Of course I can do that because I spent $850.00 last month on a brand new water heater myself! And yes as Josh said, that's completely installed, gas hooked up by a licensed plumber, water piping plumbed up, and the old water heater hauled away.

Heading to Lanai in July... now with a little less spending money. Dang.

 8.
I have the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 also and it's great lens. If I was you I would keep the Tamron and spend the money on one of those fine Limited lenses. How much better do you think the Pentax macro lens will be than the Tamron? Not much if at all in most cases I would think.

Like Michael said, nothing wrong with your Tamron.

 9.
I use a Pentax K10D as my personal camera but at work I use a D90. I can tell you the D90 is a fine camera and makes an excellent kit. I've been using one for awhile now and it's easy to use and handles nicely. It's good in low light and has fast auto focus. As a Pentax man I want to get K7 but there are not any in stores to get a feel of. I'm sure it's fine but I just wish I could hold one first.

00WSVZ-244011584.jpg.b904e6fb731f739f89ff2e08f3da6863.jpg

 10.
I don't mind at all. I was just surprised to see it. And yes it is a very nice lens. I should use it more then I do.

As seen in my photo link above I also have a Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 and it has that yellowish tint which is the radioactive element. I need to put in in the sun or under a blue light to clear it up. That is the proposed solution I have read about.

The blue green tint is the SMC coating. My one SMC lens (SMC Takumar 135mm f/3.5) has that same blue green tint. All of my other lenses are Super-Taks and are clear as a can be.

 11.
Jon, I like this site for Takumar information, and not just the 35mm f/3.5 but all of them. http://whitemetal.com/pentax/index_pentax_lenses.htm
By the way where did you get that photo of the Super-Takumar 35mm above? Oh I know, from me. That's my lens! I like it so much I have two of them. The one in the photo you posted was my first Tak. The second one came in a set along with a 50mm f/1.4 and an SMC 135mm f/3.5. The others in this photo I bought separately.

00WRYR-243449584.thumb.jpg.2301898ca1ac98d9a20e6e85782e509f.jpg

If you don't think College Station TX with 40,000 undergrads would love an Aggie K-x than you are nuts.

I can attest to that one! I live in Houston only a couple of hours away from College Station. My twin step-daughters are graduates and they bleed maroon! If Pentax made a maroon K-x cameras Aggies would snap them up.

 13.
A 4 year old camera is old. The way of electronics I suppose... I finally updated my old K10D firmware from 1.0 to the new 1.31. Used the MAC version. No problems.
Now I might just go out and rent a DA*lens and see what this SDM is all about :)

 14.
I saw that ad a while back. I think it was one of those scrolling ads that changes every few seconds. Canon sponsored the ad with different products scrolling through, mostly Canon stuff but obviously a few others too!
