I downloaded LR4 about a week ago. I like that the black point in the develop module gives a full range of adjustment. Much better than earlier versions. The map and book are nice additions. given the upgrade price from LR3, it a deal. The upgrade when smoothly and no problems so far.

For me the simple answer is card reader, it's faster and easier.

Mid 1950's with my Brownie. I still have the camera!

Fixed it, Don and Howard, thank you, you both led me to the correct set-up. Photoshop controlling the colors, using ICC profile. Printer was not set to correct paper, still on glossy. I now have an excellent print. Thank you to all, who made suggestions. Tom

I believe that I have the printer controlling the colors. My monitor is calibrated and printer does a great job with color reproduction when using glossy paper. I've not heard about the R1900 not suited for matte finish; that I will have to check out. I will also once again review the printer set-up. Tom

I recently purchased Epson PremiumPresentation Paper MATTE, 13x19. The print image is very dull. Printer is a Epson R1900, profile was set for this paper, and printer controls colors. Photo: http://www.photo.net/photo/9251971
Any ideas where I when wrong with the printer setting? Thank you

At Xmas I used a Vivitar DF-383 TTL flash extensively for the first time. Most photos were shot with the head set a 45 degrees and using the white card to bounce the light toward the subject. Most of the pictures were under exposed by 1/2 to 1 1/2 stops Thankfully, I shot everything in RAW and was able to correct everyone. I was wondering if any one knows of a good website/book where I can get some basic instruction on the use of a TTL Flash in the bounce mode. All my prior photos have been in ambient light or using the in camera flash. Thank you for your suggestions. Tom

My charger holds 4 AA or 4 AAA, It takes about 5-6 hours to 4-AA NiMH 2500 mAh batteries. I have found if the batteries are installed well that they would all charge in the amount of time. If the batteries are getting hot during charging they are not making a good connection to the charger. Tom

I think the new system is just fine, it wraps A/O into one. The O rating, I personally found it hard to use. many technically very good photos, of an old subject is that a 6/4 in the old system. I hope the change works, it makes sense.

I use a hood on all my lens, along with a ND filter, it's for protection!

I took her statement at face value, she indicated with her hands that the area from the original file was about 3x5 and that she increase the size 10x. Photo presented were 16x20 for the largest, but some were 11x14. So (11x14)/(3x5)=10.26 , so for me 10X works. Am I missing something? I don't know what mp size camera she used only that it was digital.

The prints were 16x24, from macro shots. The photographer indicated that they were X10 (1000%) from the original. The prints were glossy and from about a foot they had excellent sharpness. I was truly amazed. Tom

Brad: Thank you for the suggestion.
Kevin: I did look at the website, downloaded a free trial and the software wouldn't load into PE8. So I'm not sure the website is correct. Tom

Yesterday, I was speaking with a photographer, at a juried craft-fair, that specialized in macro photography. The prints displayed were simply outstanding. She was kind enough to tell me about "Genuine Fractals" Software. Do you know if this is compatible with PE8 or do I need a CS version of photoshop for the software to function? Thank you Tom
