I've got lucky with them too at odd times. Usually they hike in reeds, but every now and them you find a fearless bird.

We have family in San Jose and I see them come this close in Palo Alto. Otherwise Surf Scoters are just dots in a spotting scope for me. Thanks for the offer, but I won't likely be out in California this year.
Keep shooting!

Beautifully timed. Where were you that you were able to get a Surf Scooter so close to shore? The only place I see them like this is out in California.

Wow. That room must have been very difficult to light! Very colorful. I am not much of a people photographer, but the only issue I think I have is the context of the shot. The models aren't interacting with each other and they don't seem to be engaged in "the sale". So while I like the elements (ok, I love the elements) of this shot the context mystifies me.

Hmm. I see what you mean. I'm not nearly as computer savvy as man of the users here, looks like I need to lean a lot more about these software packages.

This is a straight shot, but cropped. Should I play with the setting
to get more definition in the snow? Any other recommendations?

Thank you for your kind words Marco.

I'm with Alf on this one; I really like the perspective you have chosen.

Overall nice, but the two red leaves look like they were placed on the rock; sort of looks like a large evil head in the center.

Interesting effect. Normally I would have an issue with a subject dead center, but it seems to work somehow.

That's a real keeper! Beautifully timed.

Your little fleeting water sculptures are as magnificent as the glass works of Chiruly or Murano.

Works very well as a b&w.

Classically perfect.

Each of these are more and more amazing.

Wow! How did you pull that off? Magnificent.

I visit Ottawa frequently and know places where you are virtually guaranteed to find them.

Thanks Dale. I can't say it's intentional though, but sometimes you get lucky.

I actually manually focus these shots (no choice, manual lens). I have a LOT of misses.

A weevil this time. Another spectacular insect image, you sure have a knack!
