    This is a composite...I took the picture of the young Afghan girl separately from the background shot. I used the magic extractor in PS Elements 6 to remove her from a distracting background. I also whitened her teeth and applied some gausian blur to her face to soften it and create a nice glow. I combined her with the background to give it a different feel...hope you like it.

    This is a composite image...I separated the girl from the original distracting background and overlayed her on a neutral background. I softened her face a bit with some guasian blur, but I didn't touch her eyes.
