I'd recommend Fixation.
They cleaned my D3 sensor perfectly after my compressed air (can) blower deposited an amount of condensate on the sensor.

From their website;

One of our most popular services is the cleaning of Digital SLR sensors, which by their nature attract dust which can show up on your images. For detailed information, please download our sensor cleaning leaflet here.
All Nikon SLRs and 1.6x Canon SLRs can be cleaned while-you-wait, taking between 25 and 45 minutes. This service is not available from 1 to 2pm.

Cameras must be with us by 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 4pm on Friday afternoon to guarantee that the sensor will be cleaned that day.

I'd just like to echo some other comments about this London dealer. I use this dealer for almost all my Nikon purchases.

I've never found them anything other than utterly dedicated to superb customer service. On a couple of occasions, I've returned brand new lenses I've purchased from them for replacement. In fact, it was their suggestion if I wasn't happy with the particular examples.

I've also bought a couple of used lenses from them. These came with lens hoods - so no scam going on here. Stick with them Kenneth, I don't know a better Nikon dealer in the UK!

I have two Agfa Scala films to be processed. I was all set for posting them overseas (I'm in the UK) to DR5 labs in Denver, CO, until I discovered a lab in the UK.

Has anyone used "Scala Service" in Margate UK? Even if you've used them for other film types I'd love to here your experiences (they are also known as process 22) .

I saved my last two film for a very important event (my newborn son) and I really don't want to risk them!

Thanks in advance,

Wonderful Wednesday, as always.

I've been shooting film since last week and as the films aren't back from the labs yet I am posting an older shot of mine.

I've decided to stick with film for this one - this was my 5th exposure of my first roll of Kodak Ektar!

Continuing the bird theme.....a new arrival on the river which runs through my town. She had 12 ducklings(!), three more like this fellow and the other eight are dark brown. Sadly this morning, one of each colouring were missing.

Tricky conditions for me, fairly low light levels forced me to up the ISO just to get a little more depth of field which is still tiny with this setup.

A fairly mundane photo, but an amazing animal.

One of a pair of Snow Leopards at the Rare Breed Conservation Centre in Kent, England. An interesting place to visit.

Grrrr,

199USD to upgrade in the US (from CS4). In the UK, however, it's 192.39GBP (approx 290USD).
Strangley, it's slightly cheaper to have the disks shipped in the UK, at 186.82GBP (280USD).

For 90 USD, I'll register an US account.

Another week, another Nikon Wednesday :-) and another film scan from me.

A street scene taken in Barcelona during a recent visit.

Kodak Ektar 100, scanned with Nikon Coolscan 9000ED (ICE on, 16bit tiff, auto exposure, auto focus and no other adjustments), converted to 700px jpeg / S-RGB using CS4.

A little late coming to the forum this week. "Behind you" springs to mind when I look at this photograph :-)

This image was taken at a local nature reserve in September 2009.

This is my first submission of a scanned image. The film - Kodachrome 64, the scanner - coolscan 9000. Scanned 16th October 2009.

You beauty Steel!

Just wanted to say a big "thank you" for posting this. My 9000 works fine with Vista 64 SP2.
(Note: Obvious really but you need to connect your scanner and power up before it will appear in the Device Manager... I didn't do this initially).

A little late (for me) coming to Nikon Wednesday this week, so I haven't looked at the posts yet. I am sure they are even better than last week. I'll post my offering then settle back and enjoy the thread.
I drove past some corn fields this afternoon and I thought I might capture something I could post here.

Steve Smith "Last time I was in Canterbury cathedral, photography was allowed but you had to buy a permit. No flash though which is understandable."

Photography is permitted in and around Canterbury Cathedral without a fee as long as it is for personal use. A fee is payable for commercial photography, which must be arranged in advance. (The policy can be found on their website http://www.canterbury-cathedral.org/pdf/visits/welcomebrochure.pdf)

I visit often with "professional gear" and have never been questioned about commercial photography etc.

You cannot photograph in the crypt however.

I highly recommend visiting the place. Great photo opportunites. Here's one I prepared earlier.

Great Wednesday thread already!

Ian - nice... have you been to Dungeness in Kent? Another pebble beach but like no other! I'll do my best to get over there for another Nikon Wednesday.
I had decided on this weeks shot before viewing the thread and finding that excellent Duck from Alejandro.

Ian - that's the bargain of the century. 3 rolls of (process paid) K64 for £2. Thanks for the heads up. My store, whilst large, is in a popular tourist location and it's possible that they have more healthy sales of film....

Well worth keeping an eye on one's local Boots stores in case the offer is repeated in other stores. My Boots also stocks Ilford B&W along with the consumer colour C41 from Kodak and Fuji.

Re. 3 rolls for £2.

Just back from my local Boots store. I am afraid it's still the "3 for the price of 2" in this large Boots store.

Re. 3 rolls for £2.

Ian - Boots have been running an offer for some time of "3 rolls for the price of 2" on K64. I find the offer of 3 rolls for £2 a little hard to swallow. I hope it's correct though - I'll wander over to my larger Boots store this afternoon.
The 3 for 2 offer was/is based on £13 per single roll, coming out at ~ £8.60 per roll for three. This isn't too much more than the bulk price from 7 day shop. All prices include processing (but not postage).
I'll report back after visiting Boots.

I bought a couple of rolls yesterday (30th December, 2014).

The shop (website) recommended exposing at 500 for daylight (w/out daylight filter). Will upload some shots when I have scanned the negs.
