Not the easiest situation to photograph. Usually, if this were my capture, I would jump to myself saying: Highlights, no details in the shadow areas, no middle tones, etc. But you know what? I love this image! And I don't need details in the shadow areas, because I've got enough of them around the water, the mud(?), and there's the DOF with soft differences, and the superb reflections of clouds in the water... All in all, very well done. It really works for me. Best wishes!

This is just beautiful! The wonderful tonalities of light on the leaf, its sharpness, the way it hangs and the superb DOF - all of these, I think, make this photograph a breathtaking one. I guess some of our actions in life, and maybe life itself hangs, just like this leaf, on an almost invisible string. Congratulations!

Thank you, Tero, for your attention. Yes, I used the same building for this and the other capture you mentioned, and this fragment is just that - a fragment from the whole - simple, but I liked the shadows and the simple lines in this one as well. I'm glad I could get hold of quite a few images of this building - while I was studying it from every possible angle, perhaps a guard noticed my exaggerated attention and kicked me out, so to speak... The lens is simple, nothing fancy here: 18-200mm, 3.5-5.6, AF-S Nikkor. I don't know about others, but I know I'm very satisfied with it. Take care!

If I were you I would do something with the guy - he is not really in focus and, in my opinion, he doesn't add very much to the overall composition. Other than that, I like your simple approach of the columns, your framing and the tonalities and shapes that dominate the image. Regards, Mihai.
  1. You've got me with this one, my friend! Mr. Myung in full action! Great light and capture of one of the world's greatest bass-players. (I hope you enjoy their scenic presence as much as I do!) Best to you, Mihai.
  2. Interesting composition - the way it starts in one corner and ends in the other. (one small suggestion: I would crop the door on the left hand side, and maybe, just maybe, try it in B&W - I said maybe because I really like your soft color changes and tonalities). Regards, Mihai.
