Good idea but a little bit too dark for me. As I see the image has quite a few parts very close to pure black, therefore with no detail. I would try bracketing next time, especially when you're not sure about the result - direct sunlight that creates very bright parts and harsh shadows, often with no detail. Using a slight change in under-, overexposure will darken or brighten the overall image, but many times it really helps. I hope this helps a bit. Take care!
