Attempt of a study how perspective is defined.

The details state this photo was taken in Canada. Hence a controlled situation. So I thought it might be possible to setup some flashes. I sure wouldn't do it in an uncontrolled environment :-)
Best regards,Andreas

I don't see too many ant shots here on PN, maybe they just are way too fast for macro work...
This is a very nice effort. I like the composition very much, somehow the ant looks very symmetrical. The head about the size of the back and the legs spread out nicely.
I also like he shadows. A ring light would be less effective here. However - and this is the only suggestion I have - one could try to eliminate the white spots on the head and center body.
Great image!

Very original indeed.
I must say though, that the artificial mask bothers me somewhat. It just looks too much like it was cut out. Maybe less sharpness around the black border would help, but I think the proper way would be to actually photograph the Rhino with a very fast shutter speed and flashes to create the black background "naturally" (as opposed to PS).

Wow, the title really matches well. This image tells a lot about the new generation.
There are two tables, for example, but only one person. Physical presence is no longer important with the mobiles becoming our number one communication device. Also, the protagonist is perfect to underline the message (including her accessories).
A little sideline: The empty table was seemingly used by a heavy smoker, he's not with us anymore :-)
Nice angle, great picture!

On a sailing trip through the archipelago of Sweden, I spotted this
gray seal eating at the surface when a gull just missed the fish in a
fly-by attack.

Victor, Monte: Thank you for your comments.
As for how I did it:
I took an early hike into the rain forest and encountered the bat flying circles over the path in front of me. At dawn, it was still quite dark, so I focused manually on a spot where I hoped the bat would fly through.
Hand-held at 1/200s, the flash made the insect stand out.
The fact I got it more or less in the same level of focus as the bat was admittedly mere luck.

Taken on an early morning in the national park Soberania in Panama.
Thanks for viewing!

Tiene fuerza esta imagen.
Bien visto!

That's a nice picture!
Although your explanation tells a different story, this image transmits the feeling of a flock flying somewhere above in the air with the viewer right in the middle of it (thanks to the big bird).
That is, of course, a very difficult situation to take a picture from. I saw a movie once of a guy who did using a glider.

The white part almost seems a bit out of place in this otherwise beautiful shot.
Maybe it could have worked better with less flash power?
That said, you have some stunning pictures in your portfolio!
congrats

I think this image has more potential in less harsh light.
It would be interesting to see a version taken on a more cloudy day.
That is, to avoid the bright white parts in the image (as on the big leaf) as well as the dark, hard shadows of the leafs (for example on the very right side of the peach).

the perfect reflection.
it's pretty hard to see the two layers, since the right edge of the nearer part merges perfectly with the reflection of the hill further away. This makes it interesting and gives the illusion (!) of asymmetry.
great picture!

One little suggestion: There is a pole coming right out of her head.
Moving the camera position slightly could have avoided that.
