I was in a hide opposite the pond.

Although very hard to see, there is some grass from the closer border in the foreground.

Amazing picture. Very surreal and intense.

I wish I could take pictures like that :-)

Geertje, thank you very much for your input. Until now I've had this personal objective not to manipulate any of my wildlife shots (as well as not taking pictures of captured animals).

But just like the other commentator, you have a very valid point and I feel your manipulation would improve the image considerably.

I might actually create a special folder for manipulated photos and try your suggestion myself.
