Metal enclosures are better than plastic ones in that metal conducts (dissipates) heat ...

I personally don't use DPP but I use Downloader Pro at breezesys.com for a fast and simple transfer of images from the camera or card reader to a PC; renaming and storing them with file and folder names of your choosing.
I also use their BreezeBrowser Pro as a replacement for Canon's ZoomBrowser.

I just wish it were true for 10D as well ...

Nice. Thank you ...

This is what I see in Internet Explorer ...

The problem is that while they lay beside the individual forum listings, they lay above the Unified forum listings which is where they drive me nuts, enough not to renew my membership when it comes up ...
-
Good to hear the issue is resolved ...
Another good thing is that users don't get sent back for their errors ...

Where is the photo?

I believe a Digital P&S will do you well ...

Very True. Nonetheless, I did place my order to ugrade from a 10D.

Is the Master/Sve switch set correctly?

I wasn't thinking of buying the 40D in Hong Kong.
What I was asking is whether anyone has seen the PDF Manuals in English - Hong Kong site has them in Traditional Chinese.

"With this camera you can get a file that have 3000 x 5500 pixel! wow....but what size it give me printed at 240ppi do? Dont you find it simple to say With this camera you can get a 11x14 at 240ppi!"
It's really simple math. 3000 x 5500 at 240dpi = 3000/240 x 5500/240 = 12.5" x 21.9" - très simple ...
-
I agree. Nonetheless, they are good apple to apple comparisons: same scene/camera/lens at different ISO's.
-
A simple re-size to 500-600 pixels will do. No need to set the dpi.
-
Yes, that was posted yesterday. But the Impress Watch and Photo Cafe samples are much more telling of high ISO capability with identical photos shot at ISO 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 3200.
-
I couldn't dind any references to these here ...
These two sites include a number of 40D sample photos with ISO at 100 to 3200.
Impressive ...

The first and last lenses (100-400 f4.5-5.6L IS, 100 f2.8 macro) are great. The third (28-135 f3.5-5.6 IS) is OK. I'd like to own all three. But that 75-300 f4-5.6 IS leaves a lot to be desired ...

The definition of obsolete (per Oxford) is "no longer produced or used; out of date". Obsolete is not useless.
One of these days I will upgrade my 10D to a 5D or 4D or 3D or 2.5D or whatever it will be at the time, because I am ready to spend the money for the functionality that wasn't available when I was willing to spend the money on a 10D. It's not going to be because my 10D is crap and begins giving me lousy pics but because I can justify more.
So, let's all "droulle". This is no different than buying a 2000 Accord V6 with 200HP and seeing the 2005 240HP version with numerous other improvements.
We bitch when things don't get better and we bitch when they do.
Let's get a life ...

I'd sure like to understand Canon's model numbering scheme ...
The 20D was better than the 10D. I suspect the 5D isn't worse than the
10D ...
-
Thank you Martin. Must be a nice viewfinder ...
-
Carlos, are you certain you're comparing apples and apples?
The 5D viewfinder coverage is 96% and magnification is 71%. 71% is actually the same as for the Canon EOS 1v.
-
Exactly. The dpi of the image file isn't relevant. The only dpi thing that matters is the dpi that ends up on paper. For example my 10D generates 2048x3072 files. Printed with no cropping onto 8x12 paper will result in 256dpi (3072/12 or 2048/8).
DPP how to batch rename by time for 20D folders?
