I disagree, the composition is nice, though a bit unusual. And I like the look from the eye.

Thank you, that is precisely what we intended!

You are right, but isn't that exactly what good photos should be: a mirror of yourself? A picture in itself is nothing until a viewer projects and reflects on it. Sorry it didn't work for you, though I don't find your critique very constructive. Seeing your portfolio, I understand your style and subjects are totally different, but that is no reason to be condescending, is it? Photographically, what is it you think needs improving, and how? Regards Lennart

I was one of those commenting on your previous picture - this is much better! Still, I think the sepia toning adds a warmth that you may not really want. I would suggest to keep it in cold tones, it would convey the emotions (e.g. loneliness in a cold, hard world) even more. Just my opinion ... I am honestly touched by this picture, in spite of my comments! Regards Lennart

One of these moments when the model is completely absorbed, forgetting
the camera. Does this feel staged or natural?

Thanks John, I appreciate it!

I like the idea, showing a little to suggest more. Somehow the skin texture disturbs me, though. It doesn't look quite human, but I don't know why or how to change it. Maybe the picture is cropped too tight, you could show a little more without ebing revealing. Also I like the red color of the strap, but I think it should be open, like waiting for the stocking or having just been unhitched. Just some ideas on a very good photo!

Thank you for your comments! Here is a version taking them into account: cropping and 90% desaturated. Regards Lennart

I appreciate any feedback, thank you!

I just browsed the nudes after a few days away, and the two photos I clicked on, without knowing the author, were yours (it is not the first time this happens)... It says a lot about the talent and beauty of your models, but even more about your ability to frame, lighten and capture them in a uniquely sensual and sensitive way. Compliments! Lennart

This is very erotic,John! You are pushing the limits and we can all benefit - superb job (and kudos to the woman)!

I never rate, so don't worry! Why do you care about ratings, anyway? This is a very good photo, fine skin tones, nice light. I just find the sharp angle of her wrist disturbing the the nice effect of smooth body lines contrasting with the straight lines of the window. Good first try, go on (whatever ratings you get)! Regards Lennart (Hasselblad fan)

This is a bit different from my usual style, what do you think? Thanks
for all comments!

It's like at school, isn't it? The best part are the breaks! Great photo, I love it! Regards Lennart

I don't really think the title adds much, but the photo is excellent! Especially the lighting, the dark tones, the pose, the cropping - very good, congratulations!

I don't mind the shoes, it is a beautiful picture, ... Technically though, you should do something to make her hair stand out from the background - it looks as if she has no head! Try with PS!

This picture triggers so many thoughts!
First I see a sexy woman with her tights pulled down. Then I see the cold tiles, the pillbox, the pills. Is she sleeping, fainted, od'd? Did she fall off the wc? No, she is "just depressed". Why? You say we are often at fault. So did someone else pull down those tights? Did someone misuse or abuse her? What does the ring on her right hand mean? Why the sunglasses? Is she taking drugs or are these aspirins? Am I missing some important clues?
Every picture tells a story - this one tells a thousand stories, all in the eye of the beholder. You have really added a dimension to your photography here, John!

I am grateful for your positive comments, especially John and Jim! I'm currently finishing the renovation of a big old house in France, with a studio, so I'll be back with more next spring. Regards Lennart

I like your pictures, but this one you overworked, in my opinion!

Very nice, but I prefer *, there are fewer concrete details on that one!

An eternal subject very well treated - congratulations, it's lovely!
