What is the best memory card to have?

One that doesn't forget?

This referes to selling in an art gallery setting........ soooooooooooooo.......Photo's are the number one hardest art to sell. Everybody thinks they can take pictures...... Somehow they think there is no "art" in taking photographs as apposed to say art in painting/drawing. To them painting and drawing takes talent.--!? I owned an Art Gallery for years and couldn't convince most customers otherwise. One of life's strange truths.

I don't think it matters what film you start with just keep using it until you understand it's characteristics then when you decide to try a different one you have a bases on which to compare.....

Great, thanks for the info. Never new the origin of the name Leica....URL signature link removed. Please only post URL when relevant to topic of post.

Oh hey, it's the money, ya just tons and tons of money in street photography.........well maybe not. I believe it's the light. It surprises and it amazes me time and time again. URL signature deleted. Not allowed on photo.net.

I don't look at any other sites except for checking the daily photos at Oneexposure.com.

The site is "under construction" so what is it exactly you look at?

In years past, did wedding, portrait, (etc.) photographers hang out their shingle without being truly up to the task?

Yes, as a matter of fact I know of someone personaly who decided to become a "Wedding" photographer and (believe me) this guy didn't have a clue about cameras, film, lighting literaly anything. And today, 17 years later he's still in business. He would tap me for information almost every week. I'd just laugh and tell him what I knew and now he can do a really good job at it.......go figure. His first clients didn't get the best work though......

If you’re not a subscriber to PN, then you shouldn’t be allowed to have an opinion on critiques or forums!

And this comes from someone who has neither a single picture of their own work nor a link to one......
Now that's a telling observation. I guess that makes you a "true" critic.

Let's Stop Complaining and Forget About Critiques-!

Much better.

Can a Photo of Oneself Be a Candid?

Really, what a ditzy question. Next you'll be contemplating your navel.....

-

Why does something have to have relevance to use it. Relevance to whom? For Gods sake, use what you want and shoot pictures you want and all the rest is what's IRRELEVANT-! Sometimes this site really irks me.

-

I guarantee if you take the 4x5 you will do more thinking about the shot you will make than if you take the Canon. It doesn't mean one is better, just that you will use your brain more. (yes I know you can use your brain with the canon it just is not as easy with the 4x5......trust me.)

Next, you'll all want decoder rings...........

-

Simply put: They can. However they make more money on the other. Haven't you ever been in or been aware of how business works?

Wow, thats what I call an anal retentive photo.

I looked and I wished I hadn't. Peee-uke-!

Trust me, I've tried shooting in the classical philosophy (basic rangefinder, Tri-X) out of a sense of romance, and experienced all the limitations and frustrations they did back then when they were FANTASIZING about equipment like the D700 :)

So true? I think not. “There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.” Stick with the Leica and upgrade to faster glass.

If a website plays music at me automatically, I leave instantly and NEVER go back.

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, man I couldn't agree more. Nothing, nothing pisses me off more the automatic music playing the instant the site opens.......
Phew-! Just had to get that out.

Best number one tip = Duct tape, Duct tape, Duct tape, you can fix anything with Ducktape.

I have exactly 235,132 in the last 2 years all them digital. My way of learning in the dslr age.....

Ok so, if thats correct that 235,132 shots that got looked at for about say 10 seconds each. So, thats 2,351,320 seconds of "looking" Converted to minutes thats, 39,189 minutes of "looking". Converted to hours thats 653 hours of "looking". Converted to 8 hours per day thats 81+ days of straight "looking" at shots. Thats almost 3 months straight-! I'm willing to bet there are a good number of really usless shots there.

Sure, first thing you do is take the beer and make sure it's IN the picture area you want to take.............................grin.
