1.
Hi-

I have all my flashes/strobes as slaves. I am just setting things up, but can already see a prob.
I need a transmitter to trigger all the slaves, but since my hotshoe isnt working (always using a cord) I would like to get a trigger to use with a sync cord option (so I can still move around and only have a small cord on the camera)

Right now, as I move around, I continually pop out the cord to trigger all flashes..ug

Any recommendations? I would like to stay inexpensive as possible.

TY!

 2.
I just tested my lighting in my basement 'studio'. I have more light output than I expected, so make sure you get a lightmeter - I spent 45 mins going through different settings, if you dont have one already (I dont).
I have a white muslin up, but really see the need for white seamless paper (which I wanted in the first place).
Here is an excellent link that should help you -
http://www.zarias.com/?m=200804
I got a cowboy studio setup, but to be honest, its very light. Get some really steady and heavy 'legged' stands. What I got is big, and has some strobes, but the AB ARE by far better. (I got AC Morris Slaves). So far I am happy, but you can always power down w some strobes like AB, you cannot power up with ones I have - know what I mean :)
Good luck!

 3.
Hi - I am from the US, but more than likely its the same. Contact them forst and let them know, and be specific on which ones. You caould write them a formal letter, emails may be to casual and go unnoticed.

If you get a bad response, or have several attempts (I suggest 3), then do another form a lawyer. If you dont get a response form that, I would send a CEASE letter form your lawyer along with a threat of court for copyright infringement.

It may be a $$ cost, so try to figure out if its $$ worth it.
I saw on one persons post that they were submitted by a fan, meaning the fan took them first.

Good Luck!

 4.
Thats a very good idea, for that software. I may do that also. I have used Picasa in the past, but its not the best. I am also looking.

Years ago I looked into the website side of thinigs, like Mpix (but it was flex or reflex or something) and it was great. It was also free.
Adobe showcase has some too....

 5.
Hi - If hired by a person for a party as the photographer, how would I handle model releases?

Lets say I get some fantastic photos, and want to use them sometime down the road-
Would I have to contact each person and have the whole party sign thiese?
It will be over 200 ppl!

Thanks!

 6.
Well, she will have to find a converter. Although you could tell her;

I will give these to you as RAW, but if you want me to covert them, that will be extra.
or
Here are your images, please take notice that not all images were proven to be showcased; which is why you did not originally see them all at once. As you know I shoot digital images that allow me to shoot continuously, and getting the best candid shots as possible. While setting up lights, or arranging poses, I took extra test shots. These you will also see, and are not for proper viewing. If at any time you want certain images converted to a separate file format, or retouched, please let me know and we can make an amendment to your existing contract.

or something like that- saving your rep maybe....and also offering assistance

and change the words for the future...lol
right now - run dont walk :)

 7.
I like these too. Although I was wondering if you use a reflector? Some of them I would see a benefit for a gold reflector, or a diffusser.
I like the water ones - did you have a give them wine before they would get in? I hope it was a warm day! LOL

 8.
I agree about looking for different things. You are the photographer. Remember that. :) If this was a real gig (not saying it isnt) and you had to do a shoot for R.L. or something - you would get the final say (or someone in charge of it) not the models.
Have a business mind when you look at these.

and I will take that shiny dress if your done with it...hehe

 9.
I guess it depends on the look of shot -

raunchy and seductive?

classy and alluring?

If you want the first one - there is a cheap hotel in Elmsford, NY (right off White Plains) OR
there are some VERYYY nice places up north - near the B&B's in Dutchess county. the further the north you get, the less expensive, and with a train ticket, it may be worth your while $$.
You may even be able to rent a eclectic/classy place in Putnam, Dutchess, Orange County for a night or a couple days-- check out craigslist.

 10.
Theresa - You can also delete anything you posted - and anything anyone else has posted in comments.
For the person who mentioned the cop thing; that person had his profile as PUBLIC - you have to limit on the privacy settings what you want seen, etc etc - even your photos can, or cannot, be seen (when you post them you have a level for them too).
There is nothing wring with you having a life outside your work. People should realize that it does not reflect on your actual work. Also if that was the case we would not have some of the presidents we have had. Work is work - Life is Life. Just dont run for office...LOL (and be careful of the internet, it can sneak up on you after time...)

 11.
Hello-
I had a domain I bought years ago, and now have decided to rename the business. I dont mind buying a new domain, but the business name is not available.
< p>(.biz, .org, .net or anything)
What do you suggest? Please dont say rename it..LOL
Also, this one is more important too - I used BLOGGER for my website templates, etc. I now want to have it loo k more professional and polished. Although I dont mind doing it myself...the Blogger one just looks thrown tog ether, in my opinon, and was good for the time being.
Does anyone suggest a place I can use for free, or relatively inexpensive and provides quality results?
( I dont think I need flash or anything)

T hanks!

 12.
I cannot remember where, but here is a site out there you can google for that has gerneral forms for photographers.
It was where I got all my model releases, usage rights, etc etc.
My sister needed a usage release for WALMART! You can edit those too.

On your pricing, I just noticed you asked her what her budget was. I know you dont want to shy her away - but she asked you what your price was. Let her know your price - not that you are willing to bend. (that being said, you dont want to burn a bridge either...catch 22 I know...)

 13.
As a new poster (member) I am not going to read 4 mos old post. Not saying I wont if I search a particular topic - but I woulndt have seen this topic if not reposted.
LOL - I just went to a customer service meeting, and one person said "Isnt this redundant..." Well, maybe to the old-timers in the company - but not everyone....same goes here. Thanks for posting :)

 14.
Have you thought about making a contract on contigenticy of opening, for a length of time, and add a clause to reinstate it for a number of years after that term?

(IE: Apon opening to show for 5 yrs, thereafter each party will decide if property will be shown further in meusum...)

but in better legal wording...hehe

 15.
You should be fine. If you really want to know, contact your local permits office, explain it to them. More than likely, you wont need anything.

In the case of a wedding, etc, thats a diiferent story. Some places need a permit 2-6 weeks in advance. (or more, like Central Park, NY NY). Even there though, the casual photos are taken so many times, it would be impossible to ticket. Cover your bases and call the local permit office, wouldnt hurt.

 16.
I also see what you mean too - a cashflow - why cut that off.

Maybe save that for the end - if it ever comes.
Will you be doing this as 'YOU' or a 'WORK FOR HIRE'?
On a side note, I went to a dentist this summer, and I thought I was at a spa. They even gave me a neck rub at the begining, and made all my future appointments at a specialist within my time and price (coverage) range. Had BIG HD TV's to watch in the meantime - I am so glad I have excellant dental coverage :) (benefit of working for a HealthCare company)

That reminds me - I need a cleaning - hehe
