Thank you Phos for your deep thoughts on the way that some fellow-photographers are criticizing and rating photos at this site, and I am deeply honored with your words about me (although a little exaggerated).

You see Phos the problem of this site is that allowing anonymous ratings, encourage guys, sometimes, to rate photos very quickly and without second thoughts on artistic values. But the main purpose of a photographic site is to make photographers contact each other, exchange thoughts and ideas and finally make better photos ! And I think that everybody believes that..

So I made this experiment. I pushed a little things and I made two Down raters start speaking and as they were guys of good faith, we ended, as you can see, with an interesting peaceful conversation, two Down raters turning to Up raters and the most important, with a better photo !

So, my idea Phos is this: Let us draw out Down raters from the background, bring them to the foreground, and make them be serious enough to start speaking and giving their "bad" critics (nothing wrong about that) in order to exchange ideas and have, consequently, better photos !! Of course we are speaking about guys of good faith and I believe that there are many of them amongst the photographers of this site.

And the key is just that : Let us try to persuade the guys of PN, TO STOP ANONYMOUS RATINGS !! We are photographers and we need to speak to each other about our photos in order to repair their problems and have better ones by exchanging our experiences .. But in order to do that, down ratings HAVE TO BE JUSTIFIED !!! and that can not be done by anonymous ratings.Is there somebody who can't understand that simple idea ? Let us invite him to speak..

What a surprise, speaking again after so many months from our discussion with you and Fred Goldsmith and the other fellow-photographers.. Of course I remember our "Where is the back story" thread (http://photo.net/philosophy-of-photography-forum/00LGmP) and I am looking forward for a new one. I am fine and back again after some months interruption in posting to PN, because I was too busy, uploading my movies to the Web (you see I am a movie maker too). How are you doing with your studies in University ?
