1.
Hi Raj, you may have solved this by now but for future info, Newton Ellis in Liverpool are confident on Contax lla cameras.
I have restored two of these cameras and found them responsive to methodical treatment, cleaning and light lubrication. The shutter tensioning is important and Henry Sheerer's site has info about how tight or loose the springs should be. I adjusted mine for speed and sonic footprint by using audio recording software, all speeds are within 1/2 stop at worst. On both occasions I did not have to adjust the rangefinder at all,
If the rangefinder is horizontally mis-aligned then it appears that the lens helical may have been mis-assembled and has become un-synschronized with the rangefinder mechanism, vertical mis-alignment has been covered above.
Kevin

 2.
Hi Tony, very nice post and super set of images. I also like the seashore pictures in particular.
I have the same outfit and have also started to use the camera in ernest for the first time just recently. All the items have needed various levels of service, the camera would not work without 'hanging' and all the lenses needed re-lubricating and cleaning. Now they work and i am getting familiar with it.
I wonder how you have found the focus system? I'd be interested in your experiences, also the accuracy of the the aperture adjustment. One surprise was just how the camera seems to be ergonomically sound, I found that after just a few rolls of film it feels good.
I'll post some of my pics once developed.
Kevin

 3.
I was given a roll by my brother to try out. I'm quite impressed with the rich tones although it seems to need a lot of exposure. I rated it at 50 iso but underexposed the whole roll by a stop. I also was uncertain about developing times and so maybe some extra time may help. Overall I like it.
<img src=" alt="" />
